Rand Paul's New Marching Orders

by: RDemocrat

Wed May 26, 2010 at 19:46:48 PM EDT

Ah, it sure did not take long for the "outsider" tea-bag candidate Rand Paul to start taking the marching orders. It did not take long for him to start placing blame for his own actions on others either, a typical modern Republican trait. You see, after making an insensitive fool of himself on national TV, Paul has shaken up his staff. However, in light of his racist remarks as pointed out at Barefoot and Progressive a man with ties to white supremacy seems like a curious choice. Now, the true boss Mitch McConnell has conveniently told Paul to shut the hell up.

Now Paul has a brand new campaign manager and a new job for his old one:

Paul, a Bowling Green ophthalmologist and a first-time candidate, picked a new campaign manager, Jesse Benton, who handled communications for Paul's father, Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul during his 2008 presidential bid. David Adams, who was Rand Paul's campaign manager for the primary, will become campaign chairman.

So, appointing a new campaign director that as pointed out at Barefoot and Progressive is a white supremacist is really going to clean up your racist image. Good luck with that one.

And good luck to the Godfather of Kentucky politics Mitch McConnell. He has a really unruly teenager with twisty curls to reign in. It may be more of a chore than even he can handle this time but to his credit he has given Rand Paul one message, shut the hell up!!:

Paul also garnered national media attention when he backed out of an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell  was asked by CNN Tuesday if he encouraged Paul to keep a low profile. "He's said quite enough for the time being in terms of national press coverage," McConnell responded. The minority leader, however, expressed confidence that Paul would win in November.

Oh man, we thought the Bunning/McConnell soap opera was fun enough but now we get to watch Mitch McConnell desperately try to keep Rand Paul from allowing the true beliefs and ideas of the modern Republican Party to slowly seep out. It promises to be a fun summer and fall!!

Here is Mitch McConnell telling Paul to shut the hell up:
