Rand Paul Writes Budget, Gets Pounded by Conway

The Kentucky Senate race has some new developments today. The Mad Doctor Rand Paul is ignoring the fact that the budget gets written in the House and he is running for the Senate, and in a move no doubt intended to fire up the tea-bag fringe has announced that he will write his own balanced budget for the United States. Meanwhile, the Conway campaign is pounding him with a web ad that puts his Senate run in perspective.

But first we have the Mad Doctor pledging to write his own balanced budget for the United States:

Republican U.S. Senate nominee Rand Paul vowed Monday to introduce his own balanced budget for the nation if he is elected.

"If filibuster be necessary to make them pay attention to the debate over a balanced budget, I think a good week's time would be well spent to have the whole country talk about what's going to happen to us if we become (financially troubled) Greece," Paul said.

Paul, a Bowling Green eye surgeon who is making his first bid for public office, said the Tea Party movement shows that the United States cannot keep borrowing and adding to its debt.

Paul is to speak at a Tea Party movement statewide rally July 5 at the Capitol, said his campaign chairman, David Adams.

Wow, I can see it now. No Social Security until you are 90. No healthcare unless you are rich. No funding for the programs that help the disabled, children, the unemployed, or anyone else. Of course, we will have plenty of Corporate Welfare doled at on a whim, and the very rich and Corporations will be able to just walk into a working persons house and rape them in person instead of just doing it with low wages and increased tax burden so that of course the Corporations will not have to pay one skinny dime for the upkeep of our country. I am sure we will be told if we are unemployed, underemployed, or just do not make much money that we should just get off our lazy asses and work harder.

In separate news, the Conway campaign is hitting back on the Mad Doctor for some of his outrageous comments defending the rights of business owners to discriminate, and defending BP for spilling millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf:

Yes, Rand Paul is just a typical politician except worse. His rise is fueled by the greediest, least patriotic, most heartless and cowardly among us. They believe in anarchy and in starving the beast even if that beast is feeding our disabled, caring for our children and providing the livelihoods of our parents and grandparents. Why?? Because they do not believe that we should have a government until their check comes in the mail or it is time for them to see a doctor, even a mad one. They suck up the government dime and then tell us we cannot if they or the rich and Corporate America have to pay their taxes. Let us hope their racist, uncaring "Americanism" is exposed for what it is in this campaign.

Go a long way towards helping that happen here:

this bp thing... (0.00 / 0)
...could be real trouble in kentucky, if you can tap into the outrage that a lot of kentuckians feel about coal companies.

a video showing the "coal pond flood", with images of this event superimposed over it, and paul's voice talking about how we need to get the bootheels off of bp, or how we can trust bp to pay the claims they owe, because they said so, would be something i'm sure he'd really rather not see.
