Is Racism Alive And Well In America?

by: Hillbilly

As a blogger and videographer, in Kentucky, I've done my best to document the political events, in Kentucky, with photos and video, and in doing so I've had the opportunity to shoot video of overt white racist like "Imperial Wizard" Ron Edwards, Jarred Hensley Vice President of the Supreme White Alliance and, what I consider, the the more discreet racist, at Tea Party events in Kentucky.

My journey documenting racism started, in Kentucky November 2008, with the lawsuit filed by the Southern Poverty Law Center, on behalf of Jordan Gruver, against "Imperial Wizard" Ron Edwards, and Jarred Hensley Vice President of Supreme White Alliance. I was blogging on my old site at the time and have since moved to our new site, partnering with Richard Dillon. While covering the trial I managed to get a video interview of "Imperial Wizard" Ron Edwards, and Jarred Hensley Vice President of Supreme White Alliance. I also got video interviews with Jordan Gruver, after he was awarded 2.5 million dollars, Richard Cohen, President of the Southern Poverty Center, and a short response from Jarred Hensley Vice President of the Supreme White Alliance.

Shortly after the 2008 November elections I began to notice a huge Right Wing resentment towards Barack Obama, a resentment that I didn't understand. After all Barack Obama didn't create the mess we were in and was then that I decided to document the Right Wing anger with photos and video to the best of my ability and with what little strength I still had in my then 69 year old body and try find out why these folks were really so angry.

I realize that most of you won't have the time to watch all the videos or the hundreds of photos, but I suggest if you do you will find that racism in America is alive and well and it's found a home in Right wing America.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

Racism (4.00 / 1)
Of course racism is alive and well in America.  Where in the world do you NOT see it?  Arabs hate Isralites.  Kurds were almost wiped out.  Every where you go you will find it.  It is perpetuated in this country by people on both sides who keep aggitating about it.  Every time a white cop arrests a black person, it is racial profiling.  Never mind that the black person was committing a crime.  Every time a black person doesn't get a promotion at work, its discrimination.  I worked with a black girl one time who didn't get a promotion because she did not do the job she had very well.  She threw a fit, called the boss some very graphic names, and was fired for insubordination.  She filed a law suit for discrimination.  This kind of behavior perpetuates discrimination and racism.  It flows from both sides.
Now we are racists because we want Mexicans to come to this country LEGALLY!  I mean, get real, people!
As far as the tea party movement is concerned, I am sure there are some racists in it.  There is in every group.  Even hillbillies.  But racist issues are not on their agenda.  If a few show up, maybe leftists who want to smear the tea party, it can't be helped.  Every one is invited.
I am not in the tea party but I don't see why anyone on any side has to keep playing the racist card just to try to make the other side look bad.  Lets just forget race and all be Americans.

Yes It Is (4.00 / 1)
To answer "lil Kitty", I find it interesting that when commenting on the subject of racism, you singled out all kinds of situations except that which the author was addressing. It was funny to watch you vilify the rest of the world, but try and give a pass to white americans. You even tried making excuses for the tea partiers, who are publicly racist.
Either you are not aware of what's going on around you, doing a poor job of attempting to be disingenuous, or just making excuses for yourself and others like you. In any event, your misguided attempt to deflect the argument was, well, just pitifully done, and laughably transparent.
"Lets just forget race and all be Americans." That's what everyone ELSE is trying to do; it's the racists and the apologists for them (like you) that won't let it happen.
