We've wrote about the influence of American Crossroads, Crossroads GPS and their links with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, here and here.
Now we know, according to Think Progress, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is fundraising for its general fund, which is used to pay for political attack Ads, from foreign nationals and foreign corporations, possibly in violation with longstanding campaign finance law.
We know that Senator Mitch McConnell has ties to American Crossroads, Crossroads GPS and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. We also know American Crossroads, Crossroads GPS and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are Rand Paul supporters. Mitch McConnell was the was the beneficiary of a U.S. Chamber of Commerce attack Ad against his opponent Bruce Lunsford in 2008 when his pal Steven Law was US Chamber of Commerce Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel.
Steven Law:
1990: Manager of Senator Mitch McConnell’s first reelection campaign.
1991-1997: Senator Mitch McConnell's Chief of Staff.
1998-2000: National Republican Senatorial Committee Executive Director.
2001-2007: US Labor Department Deputy Secretary and Chief of Staff.

2010: American Crossroads President & Chief Executive Officer.
There was a time when the U.S. Chamber of Commerce could do, what I consider, it's dirty work discreetly and under the radar, but those days are over and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been exposed for what it really is and I'm sure there will be more to come. A lot more! |
