KDP

(Great thoughts!!! - promoted by RDemocrat)

WAKE UP KDP

Let the ORDINARY citizens play your game. Those not obligated to special interest!

If speaking out makes any difference then   Mr. Moore should make sure that more ordinary citizens are involved in the KDP. So far this has been a mutual admiration society of people with like interest....the good old boys and yes, the good old girls and long term incumbents.

The most immediate past of the KDP was blemished by allowing Jerry Lundergan to take the lead in the General Election. While many in the USA had a good feeling that Barrack Obama would be elected, that made little difference to the previous KDP people. In the rural areas the party was able to deliver for Hillary Clinton, but when it came to the CITIES it was a different story.

Why?

Jim Anderson Stivers :: KDP

Don't tell me the KDP could not feel the pulse or see the surveys in the last election. As a matter of fact, I have it on good authority GOVERNOR STEVE BESHEAR was asked to get out in front of the Obama campaign as it would be good for Kentucky.

As a Democrat  I wonder why we saw few, if any OBAMA speeches by the Governor. It could be he may have consulted his political  "gang"  and been advised backing a man of color for the United States President was not in his best interest for re-election?

If the KDP wants to get energized they need a massive outreach program. Go into the counties and put together an organization that can encourage new candidates to enter the race and teach people how to get organized and become active. It seems that anyone that has an issue, with the way things are handled by the KDP, is an enemy. And, that is just a bunch of bulla.

If we can't attract young people to the Democratic Party then eventually we will loose the toe hold the D's have in Kentucky, if not already. If the D's want to get support from the next generation then they need to have some opened minded young people on the committee who can raise a questions without being shot down. I can't think of any place that it is more important to spearhead new thinking than in RURAL AMERICA. It will be harder, but it will last longer . . . lessons learned.

Welcome to the site!! (0.00 / 0)
Jim. It is great to see you here. I agree completely with you. The KDP needs to get more active, and get more average people in their ranks. They also need to start supporting ALL our Congressional candidates also. They need to quit conceding rural areas. Nobody has ever won anything chickening out!!

Hopefully the new leadership will turn a page, or the corner or something. However, like you at this point I am pretty skeptical.

Best wishes!!

WHY THE SPLIT IN THE RACE FOR US SENATE (4.00 / 1)
Rural,

I ask you?????

At a time when it appears the Democrats in Kentucky should be united the party is split down the middle with AG Conway and Lt. Governor Mongiardo. Why? Why would the heavy hitters, those already in office, decide to endorse Jack Conway when it is very evident the Lt.Governor, Mongiardo is tried and tested in this race and came within a few thousand votes of defeating the former baseball player?

The Lt. Governor was obviously going to seek this seat again and there was no secret. What I can't understand, but actually I can, why the Democratic Party would split over such an important issue and victory to unseat the DELUSIONAL HALL OF FAME baseball player?

Governor Steve Beshear should have the say for this race as to whom the Democrats will support. That being evident by Beshear's news release he supports the Lt. Governor.

What is the problem with Luallen, Stumbo and  their endorsement of the AG? (And others)

The D's should watch this one as they could loose this race to the GOP. There could be some actions, going on in the AG Office, that may be very controversial before the election.
If this discredits Jack Conway and he looses credibility, what will happen?

When we have a real chance to unseat the GOP Senator why then is the DEMOCRATIC PARTY SPLIT.

It makes no sense. But, then POLITICS MAKES NO SENSE.

I just wanna say!

Indeed Jim.. (0.00 / 0)
I am trying to stay neutral in that one for the time being because I like both candidates and for some of the reasons you just mentioned.

The split (4.00 / 1)
Rural,

If this blog is about change and making a difference at the KDP, then anyone that wants to see some solidarity among the office holding D's should

say something about this split.

A big part of the difficulty of BREAKING THRU the B S that has been going on with the Democratic Party in Kentucky is not staying neutral.  IT IS ABOUT STAND UP. And, it seems to me, regardless of friendship, and that is a very difficult call, then how can we, that are wanting more voice by the rural voters, be NEUTRAL.

A consistent part of 'GETTING THRU" has to do with no one that is interested in politics and wants to be included will not speak of the current administration, in fear of being shut out of future consideration.

This is clearly a split within the Democratic Party, allowed  by the BIG WHEELS as the KDP. If we can't decide on solidarity and pick the NEUTRAL POSITION, then things will pretty much stay the same. AND,if the current and past performance of a GOOD OLD BOYS mutual admiration society continues then participation of citizens that are looking for change in the philosophy of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY is actually  A WASTE OF TIME, Maybe not A WASTE. SELF DEFEATING?

IS SILENCE CONSENT?
