Don't tell me the KDP could not feel the pulse or see the surveys in the last election. As a matter of fact, I have it on good authority GOVERNOR STEVE BESHEAR was asked to get out in front of the Obama campaign as it would be good for Kentucky. As a Democrat I wonder why we saw few, if any OBAMA speeches by the Governor. It could be he may have consulted his political "gang" and been advised backing a man of color for the United States President was not in his best interest for re-election? If the KDP wants to get energized they need a massive outreach program. Go into the counties and put together an organization that can encourage new candidates to enter the race and teach people how to get organized and become active. It seems that anyone that has an issue, with the way things are handled by the KDP, is an enemy. And, that is just a bunch of bulla. If we can't attract young people to the Democratic Party then eventually we will loose the toe hold the D's have in Kentucky, if not already. If the D's want to get support from the next generation then they need to have some opened minded young people on the committee who can raise a questions without being shot down. I can't think of any place that it is more important to spearhead new thinking than in RURAL AMERICA. It will be harder, but it will last longer . . . lessons learned. |
