Wake Up Kentucky! We Are The Moral Majority!

by: Hillbilly

Wed Sep 08, 2010 at 02:36:50 AM EDT

We here at Hillbilly Report have done our ground work to expose the phony agenda of the extreme Right Wing with photos and videos and we've discovered it's not the Independents, moderate Republicans or Democrats looking to burn everything they don't agree with. It's the folks that claim to have morality on their side and seem have the need to drag the rest of us down to their immoral level.

At What Point ...

by: Sapient

Tue Sep 07, 2010 at 16:36:13 PM EDT

( - promoted by Hillbilly)

... does the national leadership of the Democratic Party stop allowing the conservatives to set the rules of debate?

In my eyes, our largest failing has nothing to do with policies or ideology.  People that exercise their ability to reason can see that the conservative movement is a dead end.  The problem that we face is that we allow the other side of the aisle to choose the terminology and the phrasing of issues without challenging them.

As long as they continue to claim the moral high ground without their hypocrisy being brought into the sunlight, they will always find support in the portion of our population that does not think, but reacts to buzzwords and sound bites.

Alternative To Qur'an Burning Sept. 11th At Highland Baptist Church 1101 Cherokee Road, Louisville

by: Hillbilly

Tue Sep 07, 2010 at 22:19:17 PM EDT

Saturday, September 11th marks the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 2001.
As a way of honoring the victims of those attacks, and to offer a peaceful, positive alternative to a Qur'an burning ceremony planned for that day by Florida's Dove World Outreach Center and its pastor, Terry Jones, a special interfaith service has been scheduled.

Stupid... not so negligible.

by: Acebass

Tue Sep 07, 2010 at 00:27:28 AM EDT

( - promoted by Hillbilly)

I'm reposting this with permission. I couldn't have said it better...Thanks Bryan.

In a letter to his brother in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower wrote:

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

Conservative Labor Day: Attack Workers

by: RDemocrat

Mon Sep 06, 2010 at 21:33:18 PM EDT

Leave it to the twisted world of the American Conservative. When not crashing the economy and blaming it on someone else they are running up trillions of debt on lies and failed wars and, well blaming it on someone else. They shamefully shill for the greediest and least patriotic among us in Corporate America and how do they celebrate Labor Day?? By attacking the organized workers that have made such a day possible to celebrate.

Obama to Tout Infrastructure Spending

by: RDemocrat

Mon Sep 06, 2010 at 13:31:20 PM EDT

With the slow recovery of the job market and Republicans tactics to keep anything that will help Main St. America recover, President Obama is set to tout new spending on public works to create jobs. The $50 billion dollar package would seek to do what many have felt we should be doing for a long time, putting America to work rebuilding America for once. This proposal will be part of a broader economic recovery package which Obama will unveil on Wednesday and because it is not Corporate Welfare or tax cuts for the rich will undoubtedly be opposed by Republicans who have been hoping to score cheap political points by keeping the economy from recovering.

What is happening?

Like most of you I'm sitting here with my jaw on the floor. How can someone like Rand Paul have a 15 point lead on Jack Conway? I'm numb. I don't care if you hate Jack Conways guts, how the hell does Rand Paul do this? What is wrong with Kentucky? Are the rest of the people in this state really that stupid? Is everything they say about Kentucky true? I'm at a loss for words.

Burning the Midnight Oil for Living Energy Independence

As Dean Baker reported on the (bookmark worthy) Real World Economics Review Blog, new home sales figures for July are out, and they are exactly as would have been expected when the Mortgage Brokers Association reported a slump in mortgage applications in May.

The stronger figures earlier in this year, in other words, included more than a normal rebound from a recession:

People who might have bought in the second half of 2010 or even 2011 instead bought their home before the tax credit expired. Now that the credit has expired, there is less demand than ever, leaving the market open for another plunge in prices. The support the tax credit gave to the housing market was only temporary

This does not mean that all policy response is futile: what it does mean is that the policy response must address the problem we are experiencing, not the problem we wish we were experiencing.

Hey, its Boehner v Pelosi, Obama aint on the Ballot

by: BruceMcF

Fri Sep 03, 2010 at 12:38:01 PM EDT

Burning the Midnight Oil for Progressive Populism

Really, not as intense a tragedy as Kent State, but if he gets the Speaker's Gavel in a wave election, another tragedy from my home state, Boehner of Orange.

Versus Nancy Pelosi.

People, its the midterms. I understand that many had their hopes stoked by the Presidential campaign, and many had their hopes satisfied, at least somewhat, and many had their hopes dashed, at least somewhat ... but this aint Presidential Primary season. Its the General Election Midterms.

Where are the YouTubes telling young Hispanic first time 2008 voters in Spanish "Poder para el Pueblo / Nadie Silente! Vota!" ... where's the Green fightback against Republican scorched earth ... is it all lost in naval gazing in the middle of General Election season?

Lying Criminals Continue Propoganda on Iraq War

by: RDemocrat

Thu Sep 02, 2010 at 21:03:10 PM EDT

Boy, leave it to the media in this country. They are so wrapped up in a good story they care little about the very thing they are supposed to do. Tell the American people the truth. With the new right-wing media and the old supposedly "liberal" media that is close to right-wing, America gets a raw deal when it comes to getting the truth reported to them. Take the response to Obama's Iraq speech as an example. Who do the media look to to respond?? The liars who got us into a huge, costly, idiotic mistake to begin with.

THINK before you vote

by: Mountain Man

Wed Sep 01, 2010 at 21:06:23 PM EDT

( - promoted by Hillbilly)

Well Members of the T.E.A. Party, you have finally proven that you want a Holy Rollin' theocracy in the United States much like the government of the Islamic extremists in Iran. The false God of the T.E.A. Party, Glenn Beck has just endorsed John Hagee and Sara Palin. John Hagee is an arrogant premillennialist, who worships the middle east, and not God or the Kingdom of Heaven. What if one of these Holy Rollers get elected to the office of President, and then get one of their psychotic "anointings", wallow on the floor like a pig in slop, mumble jibberish, and decides to start World War III in the middle east? You ignorant, arrogant T.E.A. Party members need to think about what you have unleashed and what you will be voting for. I believe that the Arabs and Jews need to learn to live in peace and brotherhood, but I do not believe in helping Jews in Israel to kill Arabs or helping Arabs to kill Jews. I am not a Holy Roller and I detest the crap that the Holy Rollers preach. If you want to understand how the radical Muslims think, just look at the T.E.A. party in the United States.
