HomeUncategorizedOpinion: America, The land Of The Fleeced And The Home Of The Uninsured And Unemployed.

America the land of the free and the home of the brave. Really? Brave, I don't think so. How can we consider ourselves brave when we let the Wall Street elite steal our money and then blackmail us to bail them out and we sit back and twiddle our thumbs like a bunch of wimps?

Just how much has household net worth dropped since the peak? Calculated Risk calls it $14 trillion, as does CNN, which refers to an “all-time high of $64.4 trillion in the second quarter of 2007.”

WASHINGTON – The federal government has devoted $4.7 trillion to help the financial sector through its crisis, a watchdog report said Monday.
Under the worst of circumstances, the report said, the government's maximum exposure could total nearly $24 trillion, or $80,000 for every American.

We might be wimps but Wall Street ain't, it's bonus time there, just in time for Christmas. How's that for a nice Christian touch? These folks are laughing all the way to the bank while the rest of us that still have jobs, yes I said jobs, are struggling to make ends meet.

Workers at 23 top investment banks, hedge funds, asset managers and stock and commodities exchanges can expect to earn even more than they did the peak year of 2007, according to an analysis of securities filings for the first half of 2009 and revenue estimates through year-end by The Wall Street Journal.

If a foreign country did to us what Wall Street has we would have shocked and awed them into oblivion, but Wall Street is different, very different. They have influence. If they didn't have influence many of them would be in jail, just like you or I would if we were caught stealing, but these folks have influence with the right people and will never be brought to justice until we as a people demand it.

I realize we're struggling to fight two wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, but I suggest America's biggest enemy is Wall Street. I further suggest the Wall Street thugs have done more to damage America than any terrorist could have imagined or hoped for.

How is it that our government can start two wars, expect our troops to fight for American values and then let the folks on  Wall Street steal from them and their families? What kind of government would allow that? I'll tell you what kind of government would allow that, it's the United States of America. The land of the fleeced, the home of the uninsured and unemployed. Thank you Wall Street!
