| Since helping water down Healthcare Reform before it passed Republicans have had one goal. Repealing the Affordable Care Act. But wait, I thought Republicans were the party of "fiscal responsibility"!! How can that be so when everything they do runs up debt?? |

| You see, Republicans do not mind deficits and government waste one bit as long as they and folks they represent, like the healthcare insurance lobby are the ones slopping at the trough.
Such is the case with the Affordable Care Act. What would be the cost of Republican plans to allow Health insurers to write their own rules and regulations?? $109 billion:
Repealing the health care law passed in 2010 and upheld by the Supreme Court in June would increase the federal deficit by $109 billion over 10 years, a new Congressional Budget Office analysis estimates.
The CBO on Tuesday rated the health care repeal bill passed by the House earlier this month and found that "the direct spending and revenue effects of enacting that legislation would cause a net increase in federal budget deficits of $109 billion over the 2013-2022 period." The primary reason for the deficit increase, the report showed, was the repeal of several tax increases within the health care law. While the repeal bill would reduce direct federal spending by $890 billion over that period, it would also slash more than $1 trillion in new taxes.

My question to Mitch McConnell, Ed Whitfield and all the Kentucky Republicans is simple. Who is going to pay for that? Not only that, what the hell is your idea for reigning in healthcare costs and covering the uninsured so they do not have to go to Emergency Rooms when they cannot afford to? |
