The Implosion of The Modern Republican Party Brings a New Hope

It is a most magnificent thing to watch. The implosion of the modern Republican Party. This election cycle seems now to be proving to America that while you can fool some of the people all the time, you cannot fool everyone. Now America seems to be wising up to the Republican Party and their nominee. And while some may say Romney is a victim of his own party I say he is a symptom of it. Now, his candidacy seems doomed by the very things that have long elected Republicans. Greed, hypocrisy and ignorance.

Yes, the Republicans are imploding in upon themselves. Not because of anything the "liberal media" has done but because of their own rigid idealism that pushes the three "values" they hold most dear.

Greed. America is realizing that all Republicans really care about is preserving their precious tax cuts that benefit the very few. As America suffered that was the only thing this party cared about. Well, besides figuring out how to outsource your job for profit or make you work for less. Instead of doing their jobs they were much more concerned with making Obama a one-term President. Instead of sacrificing themselves they have constantly insisted that the most helpless among us give up things like Social Security, Medicare, and the chance to actually afford a luxury most Republicans have, healthcare.

Hypocrisy. Rank hypocrisy from the party that crashed our economy with their greed and sought to blame others for it. Instead of working to help clean up their mess they worked their hardest to keep the mess from being cleaned up. They blamed others for the debt they ran up with their failed wars and Corporate Welfare. They bailed themselves out and then watered down the bail out for the rest of us. They constantly whined about their liberties being stolen even after they stymied generations of American rights and the rights of workers to negotiate for a better life. Yes, somehow these hypocrites manage to put god, guns, Corporate Welfare and greed all into one sickening lump of hypocrisy that America is now vomiting up in their faces.

Now it seems as if America is shunning the one value that has kept Republicans in power. Ignorance. The fact that many Americans have continually voted against their own interests because of the hatred and propoganda stirred up by far-right ideologues who care nothing for anyone but themselves. Ignorance that made folks thing their were "death panels" waiting for granny. Ignorance that made folks think that the President was not born in Hawaii. Ignorance that pitted neighbor against neighbor and kept us fighting for the scraps off their tables. Ignorance that made them hate hispanics, blacks, gays, Progressives and anyone else that did not fall into line behind their greed and hypocrisy.

As Republicans continue to implode this election cycle and the electorate changes one can only pray for one thing. That the greed, hypocrisy and ignorance that mark the modern Republican Party will continue to implode upon itself as people see them for what they are. A small group of elitists that are too used to getting what they want at the expense of everyone else in our country. A selfish bunch of ideologues who will destroy their country and everyone within to protect their own profits and preserve a narrow, disgraced vision of the world.

Indeed, now we may finally be able to hope that the Republican Party will not only implode, but be relegated to the status they have long deserved. A minority party that will never again be able to use it's lies to brainwash America and gain any power whatsoever in the ruling of our country.

We can hope can't we??
