What's Up With CSPAN?

by: Hillbilly

Sun Nov 08, 2009 at 21:23:28 PM EST

Sat Nov 07, 2009, 23:50:48 PM EST I posted this diary. CSPAN provided a link to the HR 3962 House floor individual debates. You could go to your state and click the link of the House member you were interested in and view his or her speech, but that all changed Sun Nov 08, 2009. None of the Kentucky individual House floor debate videos were linked properly. For example when I clicked on Ed. Whitfield's link I got Rep. Michael F. Doyle (D) PA - See screen shot below. I know CSPAN has had a busy weekend, but this sort of stuff is unprofessional and leaves them open for us to speculate this is being done purposely.

The "Affordable Health Care For Americans Act" (HR 3962) passes 220-215. 39 Dems voted against it and 1 Republican voted for it.
Click here to see individual House floor debate speeches. Update: Nov. 8, 2009 8:14 pm the CSPAN links are all screwed up. Thats why we uploaded the videos to Youtube and I had a tough time finding them. More on this here.
The Stupak Amendment passed 240-194 with 64 Democrats voting for the amendment.
Republicans voted for the Stupak Amendment and then against "Affordable Health Care For Americans Act" (HR 3962).
View House floor debate speeches of Kentucky House members Rep. Brett Guthrie (R) KY 2nd District, Rep. Ed Whitfield (R) KY 1st District, Rep. John A. Yarmuth (D), KY 3rd District and Rep. Geoff Davis (R), KY 4th District below.

Dennis Kucinich Sets Dr. David Gratzer Straight

by: Hillbilly

Wed Jun 10, 2009 at 15:23:26 PM EDT

I tuned into CSPAN 3 to watch the Live Stream video of the House single payer hearing.
When the hearing had to temporarily adjourn for members to cast 3 votes on the House floor CSPAN 3 inserted a video of Betsy McCaughey, PhD. of the conservative Manhattan Institute speaking about the evils of single payer. When CSPAN 3 retuned to the single payer hearing, the hearing was already in progress. What kind of coverage is this? Of course the video of the hearing is up now without Betsy McCaughey, PhD. of the conservative Manhattan Institute. Kind of like it never happened, but it did and I have the video to prove it.
It appears to me CSPAN 3 has taken sides on this issue and what they did is very questionable.
Dennis Kucinich kind of evened things out when set Dr. David Gratzer, Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow, straight during the hearing and that video is below, if CSPAN 3 doesn't make me take it down.
The video of Dennis Kucinich is after the hump.
