Mongiardo, Paul Post Strong Leads in New Poll

by: RDemocrat

Sun Mar 07, 2010 at 18:38:59 PM EST

In the race to replace Kentucky's "Crazy Uncle" Jim Bunning in the United States Senate a new poll is out. It has found that Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo and radical eye doctor Rand Paul with significant leads in the Democratic and Republican primaries. Besides the top four of Mongiardo, Conway, Paul and Grayson no other candidate seemed to garner much support.

Bunning's Idiocy Heats Up Kentucky Senate Race

by: RDemocrat

Fri Mar 05, 2010 at 16:01:26 PM EST

The Kentucky Senate race was getting quite boring. Leave it to eccentric, Looney Tune Jim Bunning to heat things up. One would like to think that the outgoing Senator who was shunned by the McConnell machine because he is a can or two short of a six pack decided to shake up this race but then you realize that well, Bunning is a can or two short of a six pack. However, his callous, uncaring and hypocritical "stand" earlier this week against the nation's unemployed has indeed ignited the Kentucky Senate race, which quite frankly was becoming a yawner.

FRANKFORT --- The United Auto Workers Region 3, representing Kentucky and Indiana, endorsed Democratic candidate Dr. Daniel Mongiardo for the U.S. Senate this week.
"As a doctor, Dan Mongiardo clearly understands America's patchwork health care system is broken.  He knows first-hand how people suffer when they do not have access to health care. More importantly, he has the vision and the courage to do something about it,” said UAW Region 3 director Maurice “Mo” Davison.

Daniel Mongiardo, Calls Out Jim Bunning and Rand Paul, In Lexington, Kentucky Video And Photos

by: Hillbilly

Tue Mar 02, 2010 at 22:51:23 PM EST

March 2, 2010 Lexington, Kentucky
Democratic candidate for the US Senate Daniel Mongiardo, standing in front of senator Jim Bunning's Lexington, Kentucky's office, let Jim Bunning and Rand Paul know exactly how he feels about the unemployment extension block.
Rand Paul supporters were there to support Senator Jim Bunning. Both the Mongiardo and the Bunning supporters were very vocal.
I didn't do a head count, but it appeared to me there was an equal number of people there for both sides of this issue. Click here to view Mongiardo's video. We also shot video of the Rand Paul and Jim Bunning supporters, click here to see that video. Click here to view photos of the event. Joe Sonka over at Barefoot and Progressive was also there, click here to see his post and video. His video is also after the fold.

I even got in the mix.

Bluegrass Politics
James Pence and Earl Newberry exchanged words during protests outside U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning’s Lexington office.

Democratic Senate Primaries Promise Fireworks

by: RDemocrat

Mon Nov 23, 2009 at 17:41:55 PM EST

With all the hoopla made by Republican looney-tunes who demand even nuttier candidates than they already have one expects a very lively primary season. However, it is not only the Republicans who are promising to have a lively primary season. In a couple of states at least including my own of Kentucky primaries are firing up and getting ugly. Then of course, there is always the chance of new primaries if Democrats stab their Progressive bases in the back.

Fired Up And Ready To Go? - Really?

by: Hillbilly

Thu Nov 05, 2009 at 02:23:53 AM EST

Fired up and ready to go? Only if you're a Tea Bagger or a Right Wing Coservative.
Gotta hand it to these folks, they are fired up and ready to go and the Progressive Democrats seem to be lazy, ready to sit on their rear ends and whine. Virginia, New Jersey and Maine are proof positive of lackadaisical, lazy, carefree Progressive Democratic efforts.
When I wrote this April 15, 2009, I wasn't kidding:

Kentucky Senate Poll Surprises

by: RDemocrat

Tue Nov 03, 2009 at 19:42:07 PM EST

A new WHAS11/SurveyUSA poll had some pretty surprising results. It was good news for Mongiardo and held quite a surprise on the Republican side.

The Latest Alleged Daniel Mongiardo Audio Recordings

by: Hillbilly

Mon Oct 12, 2009 at 16:17:28 PM EDT

I questioned the previous Mongiardo audios, but this audio appears to be real. If it is, then Daniel Mongiardo may have a real problem.
Reckon Jack Conway, the Kentucky Attorney General will help Daniel Mongiardo find out who is doing the audio recordings or does Daniel Mongiardo already know?

Opinion: The Daniel Mongiardo Recordings Are Fake!

by: Hillbilly

Mon Oct 05, 2009 at 02:06:22 AM EDT

Before I begin let me say this. I'm not taking sides in the Democratic Primary, but I am taking sides with right and wrong.

After listening to Daniel Mongiardo many times and shooting video of him on many occasions, I've come to the conclusion the voice in the recordings, here and here are not Daniel Mongiardo's.

Let me make my case. If you disagree there's a place to at the end of this post to express your disagreement.

by: Hillbilly

Thu Oct 01, 2009 at 00:52:52 AM EDT

Much has been said about the two audio recordings posted on Youtube by anonymous users. I've listened to the two audios of and listened to the 5 videos I've shot of Daniel Mongiardo. The question is: Are the alleged Daniel Mongiardo audios legit? Is it really Daniel Mongiardo speaking? Decide for yourself. The 2 audios and 5 videos I've shot of Daniel are below. After listening to the audios and the videos and comparing Daniels voice, let us know what you think by participating in our poll, after the hump.

by: RDemocrat

Fri Sep 04, 2009 at 10:29:37 AM EDT

Two polls released today are showing Kentucky's mood on a couple of important fronts. One is gauging our support for a public option and the other looks into our Senate race. They were both conducted by Research 2000 for Daily Kos.

by: Hillbilly

Mon Aug 03, 2009 at 21:50:55 PM EDT

See the screen capture of our Youtube videos of Jack Conway, Daniel Mongiardo, Trey Grayson and Rand Paul.
Rand Paul wins the Youtube views hands down. His video also has the most comments and the highest ratings. Trey had better get ready for a real fight.
Rand Paul is for real.

KY-Sen: Democratic Race Sizzles in Fancy Farm

by: RDemocrat

Mon Aug 03, 2009 at 01:05:11 AM EDT

Here is my roundup of the Democratic fireworks at Fancy Farm from Kos and Progressive Blue.

Ah, Fancy Farm. A throwback to the old days of politicking when candidates could not use huge dollars to run 30 second ads and actually mingled with the voters. Political careers have been made or broken for well over a century in the blistering August heat of Western Kentucky. Although the weather was unseasonably cool this year, the two main competitors for Kentucky's Senate seat provided plenty of fireworks.

Mongiardo Spells out Opposition to Cap and Trade in Paducah

by: RDemocrat

Thu Jul 16, 2009 at 02:03:17 AM EDT

Unfortunately one of the major players in the Kentucky Democratic Senate Primary was in Paducah today and I was not able to attend. Daniel Mongiardo came here to talk about his opposition to Cap and Trade. After losing the second quarter fundraising race he sought to cement some support among Western Kentucky voters who may be worrying that some of the cheaper electric rates in the nation may be going up.

Daniel Mongiardo And Single Payer Health Care

by: Hillbilly

Tue Jun 30, 2009 at 21:38:14 PM EDT

When Daniel Mongiardo came to Radcliff, Kentucky I had the opportunity to ask him about Single Payer Health Care. His answer and the video is after the hump. The audio is not as good as I would like there was too much interference to use a wireless mic.
As I have said in a previous post our goal here is not to criticize the candidates, but to inform you so you can make a decision in the Kentucky Democratic U.S. Senatorial Primary based on facts.

Daniel Mongiardo stands against Cap-and-Trade legislation

by: Shack

Thu Jun 25, 2009 at 17:30:10 PM EDT

Thank GOD Daniel Mongiardo is standing against cap and trade. This legislation would devastate Kentucky's economy and Virginia's economy as well. We need leaders who will not follow the DC crowd blindly. Mongiardo will take a stand and stick with it, IT is refreshing that we have a Lt. Governor and a leading Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate who has the guts to take a stand.

With Mongiardo sounding off strongly against cap and trade, what will Jack Conway do? He absolutely must support cap and trade because his constituents would hang him if he didn't. So listen up Rural Kentucky, Daniel Mongiardo is on your side.

KY-Sen: Babies Abound in This Race

by: RDemocrat

Fri Jun 12, 2009 at 23:47:25 PM EDT

The Kentucky Senate race on both sides is shaping up to be a very interesting affair. Besides all the high drama queen activity on the Republican side it appears as if Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning are not the only ones who are going to be childish.
