A Promise Kept By Mitch McConnell and the Republicans

by: RDemocrat

Thu Mar 21, 2013 at 21:42:07 PM EDT

Another day another Mitch McConnell hypocrisy or flat-out lie whichever you choose to call it. His obsession to in this case not balance the budget on the backs of working Americans while redistributing our nation's wealth from those who work for it to himself and his ilk knows no limits. Today, he and Charles Grassley offered an amendment to stop the "largest tax increase in American history" but actually it hypocritically promises two things. Not only slashing programs working Americans depend on, but an even larger tax increase because of a huge funding gap. Of course in the world of Mitch McConnell tax increases do not count if you increase them on working Americans. They only count if you increase them on rich Americans like himself.

The "Trancendent Issue of Our Era"

by: RDemocrat

Mon Jan 28, 2013 at 04:36:30 AM EST

Fresh off their humiliating defeat in the debate about what has really caused the problems that have beset our country Republicans just cannot give up on one thing. Using the debt they ran up with their failed wars, tax cuts for the very rich, deregulation that crashed the economy and three decades of trickle-down economics to convince Americans to allow them to steal the social safety net we try to enjoy. Indeed in their selfish little world they will blame everything but the real problem for our debt and deficits. Their own greed.

Debt Ceiling Fight Next Battleground for Social Safety Net

by: RDemocrat

Sun Jan 06, 2013 at 19:00:33 PM EST

Now that the "fiscal cliff" dive has been diverted without Republicans being allowed to pick Medicare and Social Security clean the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell is fuming. He was forced to raise taxes on a few folks like himself and lost a huge opportunity to steal from more working and retired Americans. He did not get to raise the Medicare age, the Social Security age and did not even get to gut benefits for current retirees. Yes, all in all it was a very bad deal for Mitch McConnell and the party of greed and idiocy he "leads".

Hey America Lets Go Cliff-Diving

by: RDemocrat

Sat Dec 22, 2012 at 01:14:33 AM EST

It is probably the best thing that has happened in the whole "fiscal cliff" fiasco. The Prince of Orange John Boehner suffered a humiliating defeat to his own radical caucus and left Washington without doing his job in disgrace. And while the Republican "Plan B" was shot down in flames the President and his post re-election ideas are just about as bad. And of course since its best for America that both Boehner and Obama's latest "compromises" are rejected the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell is calling for something he hasn't wanted for four years. For the Senate to pass a bill.

My Message to Democratic "Leaders": Again?

by: RDemocrat

Wed Dec 19, 2012 at 02:59:44 AM EST

The news today if true about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations is not only quite disturbing, but equally as much perplexing. I guess it should not be. The modern Democratic Party with a few exceptions has long been very good at this. Through cowardice or complicity or whatever reason you might believe the Democratic Party always seems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. No wonder they can never keep power for too long and can never enact an agenda to stop decades of trickle-down economics. Americans believe they talk a good game but are too cowardly to do anything about it. And you know something? They are for the most part spot on.

On "Fiscal Cliff" Washington Ignores America Again

by: RDemocrat

Tue Dec 18, 2012 at 15:38:56 PM EST

No matter what party controls the White House or Congress one thing is ringing true time and time again. The politicians in Washington care little about the will of the American people and instead hope to impose their own elitist will upon the rest of us. These "fiscal cliff" negotiations are becoming the latest example of the "screw you" attitudes of politicians in both parties. Because although the American people have spoken, and continue to speak loud and clear on this issue Washington politicians simply refuse to listen.

My Thoughts on McConnell, Boehner and The "Counter-Offer"

by: RDemocrat

Mon Dec 03, 2012 at 22:31:38 PM EST

Today House Republicans saw fit to insult America with their "counter-offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. Well, not to be outdone the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell had to add his own personal insult to Americans. You see, Republican "leaders" care nothing about the will of the American people or America itself as long as they can keep the good times rolling for themselves.

Republicans Insult America With "Counter-Offer"

by: RDemocrat

Mon Dec 03, 2012 at 18:02:46 PM EST

Today Republicans have made their "counter offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. No surprises here. Instead of coming up with their own original ideas the Republicans are rehashing the plans introduced by Erksine Bowles last year to the failed "deficit super committee". As you can guess with anything the modern Republican Party puts it's stamp on this "counter-offer" is simply a giveaway to the greediest and least patriotic among us and seeks to balance the budget on the backs of seniors and by stealing away the social safety net from generations of younger Americans.

Republicans Go For a Decisive Win In Their Class War

by: RDemocrat

Fri Nov 30, 2012 at 22:43:10 PM EST

Today's events in the "fiscal cliff" negotiations should show Americans one thing. Republicans have gone on offensive in their all-out war against most of America. They are showing in no uncertain terms that they simply do not care what Americans want or what is best for them. Their only goal is what it always has been. To redistribute wealth upwards to a very few and keep it there, and to leave working middle and lower class Americans to foot the bill for the excesses of the last thirty years that they did not share in.

I Hope Rand Paul Keeps Talking

by: RDemocrat

Wed Nov 21, 2012 at 08:18:22 AM EST

The Commonwealth of Kentucky sure has managed to elect two of the most disgraceful Senators in American history. First of course we have the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell. His greed, hypocrisy and anti-Americanism are well documented for all who wish to realize the truth to see. However, Kentucky has another Senator who is quickly catching up with Mitch McConnell in the Republican fantasy world of idiocy. Now it seems as if the Mad Doctor with the twisty curls Rand Paul is joining McConnell in promoting the Republican brand of "compromise" and Americanism.

Mitt Romney's America: Steal Social Security From the Young

by: RDemocrat

Sun Apr 08, 2012 at 22:34:53 PM EDT

Now that Mitt Romney is all but insured the Republican nomination for President he is officially dangerous. One must begin to look at all his ideas and imagine the America he would bring about. It is easy to see it is another "trickle-down" America that somehow still manages to trickle up. In Mitt Romney's America he will continue to pay less as he robs American workers blind. Starting with generations of younger Americans.

Ryan Plan to Ignore the Real Need of America: Jobs

by: RDemocrat

Thu Mar 22, 2012 at 17:47:58 PM EDT

There are so many problems with the Republican vision of greed introduced by Paul Ryan that it is hard to name them all. It appears as if Republicans will never be satisfied until they steal every penny available from working Americans and our economy. The worst part of the Ryan budget is not only the complete uncaring greed it exhibits but the simple fact that it fails to address the biggest problem in America right now. Indeed, it actually costs jobs instead of creating them.

Ryan's New Budget Stirs a Nest of Vampires

by: RDemocrat

Tue Mar 20, 2012 at 15:59:52 PM EDT

Paul Ryan and his fellow selfish, hypocritical Republicans are at it again. Far from being satisfied after sucking America dry like a bunch of vampires, crashing the economy and then being the only people bailed out these folks want to be rewarded yet again for their greed and idiocy. Now, what is their plan to remedy the debt they were so instrumental in running up?? The same as always, more giveaways to themselves while the 99% sacrifice.

Time to Forget This "Shared Sacrifice"

by: RDemocrat

Wed Aug 03, 2011 at 13:12:13 PM EDT

One theme we constantly heard in the manufactured debt-ceiling crisis was how Americans must be ready for "shared sacrifice". Now as that fight enters a new phase, one in which a "super Congress" is being constructed to protect the interests of the very few yet again one thing should be made clear. While all this talk of "shared sacrifice" may be warm and fuzzy to the elites it is a term that has run its course. Indeed the time has come to forget this "shared sacrifice".

A Bad Solution to a Manufactured Crisis

by: RDemocrat

Mon Aug 01, 2011 at 14:27:19 PM EDT

It goes to show just how dysfunctional our government has become to ordinary Americans. Despite the fact that millions of us are still out of work because of the greed and excess of the last thirty years and resulting crashed economy politicians cannot focus on real problems. They must manufacture them and use them to call for more pain from those who can least afford it while rewarding those who could and in fact those who caused the problems to begin with. Now with an ineffective Democratic President that agrees more with Republicans than his own party constantly rolling over we have gotten a very bad deal to solve a manufactured crisis.

Boehner Bill Continues Republican Class Warfare

by: RDemocrat

Fri Jul 29, 2011 at 11:21:45 AM EDT

The Republicans are masters of blaming someone else for doing something they do all the time. They blame President Obama and the Democrats for running up deficits after they themselves spend like drunken sailors and give huge tax breaks to their wealthy pals. But most of all they blame Progressives for creating "class warfare" against all those poor millionaires and billionaires. The truth of the matter is this. They have been waging war against the working class and the poor for a long time now. The Boehner Bill that is languishing in the House is simply a continuation of those idiotic policies.

The Real Cost of Social Security Surplus Raiding

by: RDemocrat

Wed Jul 27, 2011 at 21:38:57 PM EDT

It seems in these debt limit talks some of the "reckless spending" both Republicans and Corporate Democrats are talking about without adding new revenues is entitlement spending. Entitlements that include Social Security. Despite the fact that the Social Security trust fund regularly runs surpluses that are raided for real "reckless spending" such as tax cuts for the very greedy and wars of failed ideology.

Our Choices: Simply Horrifying and Quite Terrible

by: RDemocrat

Tue Jul 26, 2011 at 12:35:48 PM EDT

With the spectacle last night of our President and Speaker of the House "appealing" to the American people one thing became quickly apparent. Our choices for raising the debt limit ceiling for working Americans boil down to this. Simply Horrifying on one side and Quite Terrible on the other.

If This Is the Obama Hope and Change Count Me Out

by: RDemocrat

Tue Jul 12, 2011 at 02:25:44 AM EDT

It has gotten past ridiculous and is becoming downright insulting. After working so hard to elect a leader that would enact a much needed Progressive vision in 2008 we have been constantly disappointed by a President who concedes all our goals both before and after sitting at the table. One really begins to wonder if this President ever was serious about a Progressive vision or has just sold us out.

Republican True Colors: Greed, Heartlessness, and Idiocy

by: RDemocrat

Wed Apr 06, 2011 at 11:25:15 AM EDT

A predictable thing is happening. After Paul Ryan has introduced his "plan" to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, children and the most unfortunate and helpless among us all while giving the wealthy a free pass the blowhards on the right-wing are touting it as "serious". Fortunately everyone is not as brainwashed as the tea-bag masses who worship greed. In fact real economists see this plan for what it is, idiocy.
