Enough Already!!

by: RDemocrat

Mon Apr 29, 2013 at 18:17:29 PM EDT

With all the problems that have beset working Americans that the Republicans in Congress simply refuse to address there is one thing I am pretty certain Americans are getting tired of hearing about from the Republicans in the House. The attack on the American embassy in Benghazi that tragically claimed four American lives. Not that those lives weren't important, but now they are simply being used as pawns in a political game to deflect attention from the fact that Republicans simply do not care to allow an American recovery and to score cheap political points against President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

President Obama and His "Grand Bargain" With the Devil

by: RDemocrat

Thu Apr 11, 2013 at 11:29:56 AM EDT

President Obama just will not learn. The more he tries to "reach out" to the modern Republican Party the worse he looks. These folks are simply never going to accept anything that includes any sacrifice from themselves or their selfish ilk to cure the ills their policies of greed and trickle-down have caused this country. They simply do not care how many people suffer as long as they do not contribute one red cent to anything. In fact, they take his need for a "grand bargain" as nothing but a weakness for them to exploit to steal more from the very folks who have already made all the sacrifices.

President Obama: Are You Ready to Fight Yet?

by: RDemocrat

Mon Apr 08, 2013 at 15:28:19 PM EDT

For a long time we have been telling the President and all Democrats one thing. There is no need to try and compromise or "reach out" to the modern Republican Party led by such "people" as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. Indeed reaching out to these folks only leads to one thing. Pulling back a bloody nub. And now for a President that seems all to willing to sell his base and his beliefs down the river for some "grand bargain" to create some sort of legacy to be "proud" of we can only ask this. Ready to fight yet?

Whats So "Grand" About This "Bargain"?

by: RDemocrat

Fri Mar 15, 2013 at 02:24:29 AM EDT

President Obama is at it again. In "reaching out" to Republicans he is simply giving them too much power and too much say in deficit negotiations. These are after all the same Republicans who have lost the last two elections on their "ideals" and offer nothing of substance to millions of working Americans. Their only solution is to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, veterans, the working poor, and children. Their goal is to destroy our social safety net and take billions of dollars out of our pockets. Now, not only is President Obama helping them do it he is actually trying to convince Democrats who oppose such measures to back him up.

Hey America Lets Go Cliff-Diving

by: RDemocrat

Sat Dec 22, 2012 at 01:14:33 AM EST

It is probably the best thing that has happened in the whole "fiscal cliff" fiasco. The Prince of Orange John Boehner suffered a humiliating defeat to his own radical caucus and left Washington without doing his job in disgrace. And while the Republican "Plan B" was shot down in flames the President and his post re-election ideas are just about as bad. And of course since its best for America that both Boehner and Obama's latest "compromises" are rejected the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell is calling for something he hasn't wanted for four years. For the Senate to pass a bill.

My Message to Democratic "Leaders": Again?

by: RDemocrat

Wed Dec 19, 2012 at 02:59:44 AM EST

The news today if true about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations is not only quite disturbing, but equally as much perplexing. I guess it should not be. The modern Democratic Party with a few exceptions has long been very good at this. Through cowardice or complicity or whatever reason you might believe the Democratic Party always seems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. No wonder they can never keep power for too long and can never enact an agenda to stop decades of trickle-down economics. Americans believe they talk a good game but are too cowardly to do anything about it. And you know something? They are for the most part spot on.

On "Fiscal Cliff" Washington Ignores America Again

by: RDemocrat

Tue Dec 18, 2012 at 15:38:56 PM EST

No matter what party controls the White House or Congress one thing is ringing true time and time again. The politicians in Washington care little about the will of the American people and instead hope to impose their own elitist will upon the rest of us. These "fiscal cliff" negotiations are becoming the latest example of the "screw you" attitudes of politicians in both parties. Because although the American people have spoken, and continue to speak loud and clear on this issue Washington politicians simply refuse to listen.

My Thoughts on McConnell, Boehner and The "Counter-Offer"

by: RDemocrat

Mon Dec 03, 2012 at 22:31:38 PM EST

Today House Republicans saw fit to insult America with their "counter-offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. Well, not to be outdone the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell had to add his own personal insult to Americans. You see, Republican "leaders" care nothing about the will of the American people or America itself as long as they can keep the good times rolling for themselves.

Republicans Insult America With "Counter-Offer"

by: RDemocrat

Mon Dec 03, 2012 at 18:02:46 PM EST

Today Republicans have made their "counter offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. No surprises here. Instead of coming up with their own original ideas the Republicans are rehashing the plans introduced by Erksine Bowles last year to the failed "deficit super committee". As you can guess with anything the modern Republican Party puts it's stamp on this "counter-offer" is simply a giveaway to the greediest and least patriotic among us and seeks to balance the budget on the backs of seniors and by stealing away the social safety net from generations of younger Americans.

Boehner Shuns Compromise, Repeats the Big Lie

by: RDemocrat

Wed Nov 28, 2012 at 16:25:04 PM EST

We have been saying it for a long time around here and once again it is ringing true. While Republican "leaders" play lip service to "bi-partisanship" and "compromise" to them this really means only one thing. That they themselves do not come to the table and offer any concessions whatsoever. And even as members in their rank and file break away and at least consider doing the will of the American people to Republican "leaders" compromise consists entirely of them getting everything they want and giving up nothing in a shameless attempt to shield the greediest and least patriotic among us, themselves included from sacrificing to the mess they made.

The Myth Of A Republican House of Representatives

by: RDemocrat

Mon Nov 12, 2012 at 16:02:33 PM EST

Immediately after their drubbing on Election Day a Republican talking point quickly emerged to excuse them from doing the will of the American people. The dust had not even settled when we heard Republican "leaders" stating that indeed Obama had won re-election and Democrats had retained the Senate, but since Americans voted also to keep a majority of Republicans in the House that meant that we did not really want the wealthy and Corporations to pay their fair share, we really wanted healthcare repealed and we actually wanted trickle-down economics to continue. Well, as with everything Republicans try to shove down America's throat a Republican majority in the House is just another myth dreamed up by Republicans.

by: RDemocrat

Thu Oct 25, 2012 at 00:46:06 AM EDT

One Republican tactic we have become all too familiar with. Republicans lying by saying they seek to help "small businesses" with their trickle-down economics. Even bigger is the lie that any of their opponents are proposing to destroy those same "small businesses". In truth all they really care about is protecting huge corporations from having to pay fair wages, give benefits, pay taxes, and follow sensible regulations. As in the case with President Obama, Republicans care little about the truth or those "small businesses" they use as a talking point.

While Democrats in the Senate barely mustered the votes to end the Bush Tax Cuts for the very wealthy one thing is certain. Certain death awaits in in the Republican controlled House. Even worse, Republicans are determined to hold tax cuts for all Americans hostage to keep the very wealthy from paying more and no lie is too big to tell you about why the 2% of people they really represent should not pay their fair share.

by: RDemocrat

One thing Republicans are always doing is trying to use religion to divide America as a whole. They definately have no problem trying to use religion as a ramrod to divide our country as long as religious leaders agree with them on the issues. Sadly though, when religion refuses to go along with the Republican vision of greed Republican leaders feel the need to correct them on their biblical knowledge. Such was the case today with John Boehner and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Despite his role in helping engineer the Republican economic collapse of 2008 it now appears to be a real possibility. However, despite rubber-stamping every failed policy that led to the problems our country faces, Boehner has more baggage than just being a failed leader within a failed party. He has always been on the auction block, and now that he thinks he may be in a position to finish destroying our country the bidding is open.

Top Ten Reasons Not To Let Boehner Steal Your Social Security

by: RDemocrat

Tue Aug 24, 2010 at 20:00:01 PM EDT

John Boehner gave his little sales pitch on why he should be Speaker of the House today. Of course, he conveniently left out the part where the same failed policies he recommended for the future failed so miserably in the past giving us the mess we are so desperately trying to clean up without the help of Boehner and his ilk. But then again why should they help?? They already got their bailout. Another thing missing from the Prince of Orange's radar today was the fact that he, like the whole Republican Party is trying to steal your Social Security to pay for tax cuts for the rich and Corporate Welfare.

John Boehner and His Hypocritical Campaign to be Speaker

by: RDemocrat

Tue Aug 24, 2010 at 13:51:05 PM EDT

Well, the Prince of Orange in revving up his campaign to be Speaker of the House of Representatives. As with everything Republicans do nowadays, his campaign is long on bluster and short on memory and facts. Of course, like Mitch McConnell on Sunday he has to conveniently hope the American people forget his role in rubber-stamping President Bush and his policies which crashed the economy. He also has to hope you do not look at the way he has voted.

Social Security Wolves at the Door Once More

by: RDemocrat

Fri Aug 06, 2010 at 01:05:55 AM EDT

Of all the great myths pushed off on America as fact one of the ones with the most far-reaching implications for many people is the myth that Social Security is insolvent. Of course this myth is perpetrated by those who have hated Social Security since it's onset but have been forced to remain silent because Social Security is such a beneficial and popular program to so many. However, some within Corporate America, Wall St., and the Republican Party have long salivated over destroying the only retirement many millions of Americans will ever afford and in fact they almost did completely destroy it once. Just think what would have happened if George W. Bush would have been able to privatize Social Security like he wanted before he crashed the economy off a cliff. The modern robber-barons who pull the strings and REALLY steal freedoms would have gotten their wish yet again.

On SSI Aniversary Beware the Deficit Scam Being Run on You

by: RDemocrat

Fri Jul 16, 2010 at 10:56:12 AM EDT

August will mark 75 years since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Social Security legislation into law. Today, this has been the most successful safety net for American retirees, insuring that millions of the elderly and disabled do not live in poverty. However, now with the deficit caused by Republican policies of spend and spend and put two wars and numerous tax cuts on your credit card, Social Security is coming under attack. Of course they cannot blame their own policies of Corporate Welfare and huge tax cuts for the rich so instead of upsetting the Chamber of Commerce they will try to steal your retirement to make up the difference.

Trumka Defends Stimulus as Social Security Comes Under Fire

by: RDemocrat

Wed Jun 30, 2010 at 21:29:54 PM EDT

Two things that have taken a lot of heat lately is the Economic Stimulus and the Social Security insurance for America. In front of the federal budget deficit commission he argued that deficit spending is the best way to reduce and stabilize the national debt by stabilizing the economy and creating jobs. Meanwhile, others are defending Social Security against those who would continue to eliminate or privatize it.

Hey America, Speaker Boehner??

by: RDemocrat

Sat May 08, 2010 at 20:50:27 PM EDT

Nowadays it seems as if Republicans are already taking a victory lap in the fight to control the House of Representatives. On radio and in print and on the television airwaves we hear how America is going to entrust itself to Republican leadership in Congress once more. Now, if our memories are actually that short and we cannot remember what party in leadership of all three branches of government recently almost completely crashed our country off a cliff and now complain incessantly at the folks trying to clean up there mess, I just have one question to ask. Hey America, Speaker Boehner??

Republican Hypocrites Sound Off on Budget

by: RDemocrat

Mon Feb 01, 2010 at 15:22:37 PM EST

While I have been disappointed with and ripped into President Obama on occasion the Republican response to his new budget completely defines hypocrisy. Before saying anything, they should consider exactly who got us into the mess we are in- THEM. Their control of our government was a disaster for our country.

Republicans Insult the American Intelligence on Terror

by: RDemocrat

Tue Dec 29, 2009 at 02:47:15 AM EST

As soon as we learned there was a failed terror act I am sure many of us suspected that pretty soon the Republicans would be trying to score cheap political points off what had happened. Instead of being happy that the plot did indeed fail and lives were not loss, they must try and find ways to frame it to their advantage in the all too eager media. Now, I have been as disgusted as anyone with some of President Obama's leadership on Afghanistan and healthcare but I honestly believe the attacks that are coming are being made by hypocrites who have nothing else to offer.

Polls Suggest Republicans May Not Gain as Much as They Think

by: RDemocrat

Sun Dec 27, 2009 at 11:44:36 AM EST

With the state of the economy and the healthcare fight, Republicans all over the airwaves see themselves as poised to make huge gains in the House and Senate late next year in the mid-term elections. However, here in the real world, a place that seemingly does not exist in the Republican mindset the numbers may tell a different story. While President Obama and the Congress have lost some of their shine and popularity, it appears as if the American people simply despise the Republican Party, their leaders and tactics.

New Financial Regulations Pass the House

by: RDemocrat

Fri Dec 11, 2009 at 22:44:54 PM EST

As some of you that read here regularly may have noticed, I have not refrained from ripping into Democrats and Congress here lately when I feel that they are wrong. Unfortunately, too many times here lately I find myself almost as disgusted with Democrats as Republicans. However, this is not something I take particular pleasure in. I would much rather be talking about the good things my party is doing for our country and today I finally get a chance to do that, although as always it is tempered by the fact that many elected Democrats are quite simply bought and paid for, gutless, and belong in the elitist, uncaring party on the other side of the aisle, the Republicans.

The Best Republican Plan on Healthcare: Just Shut Up!!

by: RDemocrat

Sat Nov 14, 2009 at 14:28:48 PM EST

Before opening your big mouth, sometimes it is best to know what the hell you are talking about. This is one lesson Republicans in Congress just refuse to learn. For so very long, they offered up no ideas for healthcare reform and when they did they offered TORT Reform and allowing insurance companies to prey upon consumers across state lines. As if that were not bad enough, now a Republican Congressman has opened his mouth and once again inserted his own foot in it.

McConnell: So Out of Touch, Its Embarrassing!!

by: RDemocrat

Sun Oct 18, 2009 at 22:46:53 PM EDT

I think it is common knowledge that Republicans have absolutely no new ideas or vision. They offer the same failed, worn out policies as solutions no matter the situation. However, in the case of Mitch McConnell he not only has nothing but a failed vision to spew like gospel, but he is completely and totally out of touch with reality. So much to the point that it is embarrassing!!

House Votes to Protect Gay Americans From Persecution

by: RDemocrat

Fri Oct 09, 2009 at 22:16:41 PM EDT

The House of Representatives today voted to expand the definition of hate-crimes legislation to include sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or disability. This legislation was the culmination of years of attempts to curtail the type of crimes such as the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Wyoming who was murdered in 1998. It comes as Human Rights groups prepare to march upon Washington this weekend which will be culminated by a speech to the Human Rights Campaign by President Obama.

Does John Boehner Talk to Anyone in Ohio??

by: RDemocrat

Fri Oct 02, 2009 at 10:25:09 AM EDT

Well, the most artificially tan Congressman in the country has spoken again. Yes, the "Prince of Orange" has opened his mouth and the usual garbage has spewed forth. Maybe he is mad because we are not discussing the healthcare bill covering tanning bed visits, or maybe he is just too beholden to the healthcare industry and the health insurance and drug companies but one thing is clear. He must not be talking to Ohioans.

Some Republicans Finally Tire of Their Own Antics

by: RDemocrat

Fri Sep 11, 2009 at 00:45:44 AM EDT

From the "Man, it sure took long enough" category, it appears as if maybe finally some Republicans are tiring of the looney-tune reactions of their own party. It took some guy making a fool of himself on national T.V. and in front of millions of people but the outburst by Joe Wilson during Obama's speech, when he of course shouted out a lie about Obama lying may have finally caused enough of a shudder up the spines of Republicans that some of them may say enough is enough.

Maybe Progressives can Work With the Republicans

by: RDemocrat

Thu Sep 10, 2009 at 22:06:34 PM EDT

Last night we heard a speech from a young, charismatic Democratic President that undeniably inspired many within our party. We all heard how even a Congressman in a joint session of Congress showed the disrespect Republicans everywhere have shown in townhalls, disrespecting their elected leaders and neighbors by shouting over others even when it was not their turn to speak. However, despite feeling the obvious disgust at an extremist that is just determined to not hear the truth I came away with the impression that yes, maybe Progressives can work with these people and maybe they should.

Christian Hate Groups Signing Their Own Death Certificate

by: RDemocrat

Tue Sep 08, 2009 at 20:44:09 PM EDT

Jesus is stated to have visited the Temple in Jerusalem, Herod's Temple, at which the courtyard is described as being filled with livestock and the tables of the money changers, who changed the standard Greek and Roman money for Jewish and Tyrian money, which were the only coinage that could be used in Temple ceremonies. According to the Gospels, Jesus took offense to this (extorting profit from the people to hear the word of God), and so, creating a whip from some cords, drives out the money changers, and turns over their tables, and those of the people selling doves Matthew[21:13] And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased, Jesus said, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8).

Right-Wing Myth Versus Hard Reality

by: RDemocrat

Wed Aug 19, 2009 at 22:15:32 PM EDT

Many of us have known all along that the right-wing loons will do anything to maintain the status-quo and the profits of the greediest and least patriotic among us. We knew they would fight tooth-and-nail with misleading propoganda and downright lies. Well, we have not been disappointed. They have unleashed a propoganda campaign that has fed a consistent line of lies that unfortunately many have started to believe. Lets looks at some of the Right-wing myths compared to the hard realities.

Democrats Pushing Back on Stimulus Hypocrisy

by: RDemocrat

Wed Jul 29, 2009 at 11:36:07 AM EDT

You know, since the stimulus a funny thing has been happening. The very Republicans who dreamed up and enabled the very policies that crashed our economy off a cliff have been the ones the most critical of the efforts to fix it. Of course, in the sick twisted mind of the Republican a bailout for the bankers was perfectly justified, but the rest of us not so much.

John Boehner Continues Ultimate Republican Hypocrisy

by: RDemocrat

Wed Jul 22, 2009 at 20:04:43 PM EDT

The current Republican hypocrisy on the Economy is simply mind-boggling. Foremost among a myriad of hypocrites in John Boehner, who is speaking on what he sees as the Democratic failure to rescue the economy. What he is not speaking on is the fact that were it not for his party's "leadership" and rubber-stamping the failed policies of the Worst President in American History, the economy would not need rescuing.

Is Boehner Joking, Lying, or Forgetting??

by: RDemocrat

You know, much adeu has been made of comedian Al Franken joining the Senate. Well, it comes to find out he is not the only jokester in this Congress. John Boehner's comments today are not only a joke, but they reek of serious amnesia. Maybe during the pounding his narrow-minded, visionless party took last year he could have taken a shot to the head or something.

John Boehner: Look in the Mirror

by: RDemocrat

Mon Jun 29, 2009 at 20:05:15 PM EDT

The complete and total hypocrisy of the Republicans sometimes is too much to bear. I seem to remember one party totally in power for six years that gave birth to all the failed policies that crashed our economy. That was the Republican Party with Boehner as one of it's "leaders". Now he is worried about a lot of things that used to make him happy.
