"Never before have so few with so much promised to take away so much from so many and then laugh their asses off as the so many with so little vote for the so few with so much." A James Pence Quote
"American Politics, a sport for the rich and enslavement for the rest of us." A James Pence Quote
With all the problems that have beset working Americans that the Republicans in Congress simply refuse to address there is one thing I am pretty certain Americans are getting tired of hearing about from the Republicans in the House. The attack on the American embassy in Benghazi that tragically claimed four American lives. Not that those lives weren't important, but now they are simply being used as pawns in a political game to deflect attention from the fact that Republicans simply do not care to allow an American recovery and to score cheap political points against President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
President Obama just will not learn. The more he tries to "reach out" to the modern Republican Party the worse he looks. These folks are simply never going to accept anything that includes any sacrifice from themselves or their selfish ilk to cure the ills their policies of greed and trickle-down have caused this country. They simply do not care how many people suffer as long as they do not contribute one red cent to anything. In fact, they take his need for a "grand bargain" as nothing but a weakness for them to exploit to steal more from the very folks who have already made all the sacrifices.
For a long time we have been telling the President and all Democrats one thing. There is no need to try and compromise or "reach out" to the modern Republican Party led by such "people" as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. Indeed reaching out to these folks only leads to one thing. Pulling back a bloody nub. And now for a President that seems all to willing to sell his base and his beliefs down the river for some "grand bargain" to create some sort of legacy to be "proud" of we can only ask this. Ready to fight yet?
President Obama is at it again. In "reaching out" to Republicans he is simply giving them too much power and too much say in deficit negotiations. These are after all the same Republicans who have lost the last two elections on their "ideals" and offer nothing of substance to millions of working Americans. Their only solution is to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, veterans, the working poor, and children. Their goal is to destroy our social safety net and take billions of dollars out of our pockets. Now, not only is President Obama helping them do it he is actually trying to convince Democrats who oppose such measures to back him up.
It is probably the best thing that has happened in the whole "fiscal cliff" fiasco. The Prince of Orange John Boehner suffered a humiliating defeat to his own radical caucus and left Washington without doing his job in disgrace. And while the Republican "Plan B" was shot down in flames the President and his post re-election ideas are just about as bad. And of course since its best for America that both Boehner and Obama's latest "compromises" are rejected the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell is calling for something he hasn't wanted for four years. For the Senate to pass a bill.
The news today if true about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations is not only quite disturbing, but equally as much perplexing. I guess it should not be. The modern Democratic Party with a few exceptions has long been very good at this. Through cowardice or complicity or whatever reason you might believe the Democratic Party always seems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. No wonder they can never keep power for too long and can never enact an agenda to stop decades of trickle-down economics. Americans believe they talk a good game but are too cowardly to do anything about it. And you know something? They are for the most part spot on.
No matter what party controls the White House or Congress one thing is ringing true time and time again. The politicians in Washington care little about the will of the American people and instead hope to impose their own elitist will upon the rest of us. These "fiscal cliff" negotiations are becoming the latest example of the "screw you" attitudes of politicians in both parties. Because although the American people have spoken, and continue to speak loud and clear on this issue Washington politicians simply refuse to listen.
Today House Republicans saw fit to insult America with their "counter-offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. Well, not to be outdone the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell had to add his own personal insult to Americans. You see, Republican "leaders" care nothing about the will of the American people or America itself as long as they can keep the good times rolling for themselves.
Today Republicans have made their "counter offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. No surprises here. Instead of coming up with their own original ideas the Republicans are rehashing the plans introduced by Erksine Bowles last year to the failed "deficit super committee". As you can guess with anything the modern Republican Party puts it's stamp on this "counter-offer" is simply a giveaway to the greediest and least patriotic among us and seeks to balance the budget on the backs of seniors and by stealing away the social safety net from generations of younger Americans.
We have been saying it for a long time around here and once again it is ringing true. While Republican "leaders" play lip service to "bi-partisanship" and "compromise" to them this really means only one thing. That they themselves do not come to the table and offer any concessions whatsoever. And even as members in their rank and file break away and at least consider doing the will of the American people to Republican "leaders" compromise consists entirely of them getting everything they want and giving up nothing in a shameless attempt to shield the greediest and least patriotic among us, themselves included from sacrificing to the mess they made.
Immediately after their drubbing on Election Day a Republican talking point quickly emerged to excuse them from doing the will of the American people. The dust had not even settled when we heard Republican "leaders" stating that indeed Obama had won re-election and Democrats had retained the Senate, but since Americans voted also to keep a majority of Republicans in the House that meant that we did not really want the wealthy and Corporations to pay their fair share, we really wanted healthcare repealed and we actually wanted trickle-down economics to continue. Well, as with everything Republicans try to shove down America's throat a Republican majority in the House is just another myth dreamed up by Republicans.
One Republican tactic we have become all too familiar with. Republicans lying by saying they seek to help "small businesses" with their trickle-down economics. Even bigger is the lie that any of their opponents are proposing to destroy those same "small businesses". In truth all they really care about is protecting huge corporations from having to pay fair wages, give benefits, pay taxes, and follow sensible regulations. As in the case with President Obama, Republicans care little about the truth or those "small businesses" they use as a talking point.
As always for working Americans when something good happens, something bad is always waiting in the wings to shoot it down. Such is the case today. While Democrats in the Senate barely mustered the votes to end the Bush Tax Cuts for the very wealthy one thing is certain. Certain death awaits in in the Republican controlled House. Even worse, Republicans are determined to hold tax cuts for all Americans hostage to keep the very wealthy from paying more and no lie is too big to tell you about why the 2% of people they really represent should not pay their fair share.
Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are quite predictable. To them, only one America exists and that is the America in which no lie is too big to protect the interests of the rich and powerful elites like them. They know no decency or shame as long as that is just what they are doing. They care nothing about their country or anyone within as long as they can use their power to keep the good times rolling for themselves and their ilk. Now, once again they are telling the big lie in hopes that we will not make them sacrifice anything towards the problems they were so instrumental in causing.
One thing Republicans are always doing is trying to use religion to divide America as a whole. They definately have no problem trying to use religion as a ramrod to divide our country as long as religious leaders agree with them on the issues. Sadly though, when religion refuses to go along with the Republican vision of greed Republican leaders feel the need to correct them on their biblical knowledge. Such was the case today with John Boehner and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
The Prince of Orange has spent so much time in the tanning bed it has cooked his brain. After being so instrumental in the last decade enacting the policies of greed that crashed our economy teamed with the worst President in American history it has definately fried out his brain cells that generate memory. You see, just like every other Republican these days the Prince of Orange either suffers from memory loss due to excessive crack use, to many UV rays or hypocritical selective memory.
If you just mention the thought of the wealthy paying their fair share Repubicans wail in horror. That is "class warfare" and would unjustly punish the "job creators" who somehow aren't creating jobs with cash reserves and low taxes already. While this may explain things in the little old world fantasy they live in the truth is simply another matter. You see all across America millionaires are paying a smaller tax rate than folks making much less money yearly.
Republicans have been doing everything in their power to ignore the crisis they were put partially back into power to solve. The jobs crisis. As Americans have languished they have watched all of Washington ignore them to insure the wealthy are taken care of at the behest of Republicans politicians and many kindred spirits in the Democratic Party. Now that the Prince of Orange John Boehner and the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell have chimed in with their ideas it is easy to see why. These folks have no vision for anything except more Corporate Welfare.
After acting like the selfish, greedy ideologues they are for a almost three years now Republicans are talking about "common ground". Yes before President Obama's jobs speech now John Boehner and Eric Cantor want to talk about "bi-partisanship". However, when you look close at the area of "agreement" you quickly see one thing. To Republicans "compromise" means them getting all their greedy policies that do not benefit Americans besides themselves passed while ignoring the problems that have beset real Americans.
