With all the problems that have beset working Americans that the Republicans in Congress simply refuse to address there is one thing I am pretty certain Americans are getting tired of hearing about from the Republicans in the House. The attack on the American embassy in Benghazi that tragically claimed four American lives. Not that those lives weren't important, but now they are simply being used as pawns in a political game to deflect attention from the fact that Republicans simply do not care to allow an American recovery and to score cheap political points against President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
President Obama just will not learn. The more he tries to "reach out" to the modern Republican Party the worse he looks. These folks are simply never going to accept anything that includes any sacrifice from themselves or their selfish ilk to cure the ills their policies of greed and trickle-down have caused this country. They simply do not care how many people suffer as long as they do not contribute one red cent to anything. In fact, they take his need for a "grand bargain" as nothing but a weakness for them to exploit to steal more from the very folks who have already made all the sacrifices.
For a long time we have been telling the President and all Democrats one thing. There is no need to try and compromise or "reach out" to the modern Republican Party led by such "people" as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. Indeed reaching out to these folks only leads to one thing. Pulling back a bloody nub. And now for a President that seems all to willing to sell his base and his beliefs down the river for some "grand bargain" to create some sort of legacy to be "proud" of we can only ask this. Ready to fight yet?
President Obama is at it again. In "reaching out" to Republicans he is simply giving them too much power and too much say in deficit negotiations. These are after all the same Republicans who have lost the last two elections on their "ideals" and offer nothing of substance to millions of working Americans. Their only solution is to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, veterans, the working poor, and children. Their goal is to destroy our social safety net and take billions of dollars out of our pockets. Now, not only is President Obama helping them do it he is actually trying to convince Democrats who oppose such measures to back him up.
It is probably the best thing that has happened in the whole "fiscal cliff" fiasco. The Prince of Orange John Boehner suffered a humiliating defeat to his own radical caucus and left Washington without doing his job in disgrace. And while the Republican "Plan B" was shot down in flames the President and his post re-election ideas are just about as bad. And of course since its best for America that both Boehner and Obama's latest "compromises" are rejected the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell is calling for something he hasn't wanted for four years. For the Senate to pass a bill.
The news today if true about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations is not only quite disturbing, but equally as much perplexing. I guess it should not be. The modern Democratic Party with a few exceptions has long been very good at this. Through cowardice or complicity or whatever reason you might believe the Democratic Party always seems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. No wonder they can never keep power for too long and can never enact an agenda to stop decades of trickle-down economics. Americans believe they talk a good game but are too cowardly to do anything about it. And you know something? They are for the most part spot on.
No matter what party controls the White House or Congress one thing is ringing true time and time again. The politicians in Washington care little about the will of the American people and instead hope to impose their own elitist will upon the rest of us. These "fiscal cliff" negotiations are becoming the latest example of the "screw you" attitudes of politicians in both parties. Because although the American people have spoken, and continue to speak loud and clear on this issue Washington politicians simply refuse to listen.
Today House Republicans saw fit to insult America with their "counter-offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. Well, not to be outdone the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell had to add his own personal insult to Americans. You see, Republican "leaders" care nothing about the will of the American people or America itself as long as they can keep the good times rolling for themselves.
Today Republicans have made their "counter offer" in the fiscal cliff negotiations. No surprises here. Instead of coming up with their own original ideas the Republicans are rehashing the plans introduced by Erksine Bowles last year to the failed "deficit super committee". As you can guess with anything the modern Republican Party puts it's stamp on this "counter-offer" is simply a giveaway to the greediest and least patriotic among us and seeks to balance the budget on the backs of seniors and by stealing away the social safety net from generations of younger Americans.
We have been saying it for a long time around here and once again it is ringing true. While Republican "leaders" play lip service to "bi-partisanship" and "compromise" to them this really means only one thing. That they themselves do not come to the table and offer any concessions whatsoever. And even as members in their rank and file break away and at least consider doing the will of the American people to Republican "leaders" compromise consists entirely of them getting everything they want and giving up nothing in a shameless attempt to shield the greediest and least patriotic among us, themselves included from sacrificing to the mess they made.
Immediately after their drubbing on Election Day a Republican talking point quickly emerged to excuse them from doing the will of the American people. The dust had not even settled when we heard Republican "leaders" stating that indeed Obama had won re-election and Democrats had retained the Senate, but since Americans voted also to keep a majority of Republicans in the House that meant that we did not really want the wealthy and Corporations to pay their fair share, we really wanted healthcare repealed and we actually wanted trickle-down economics to continue. Well, as with everything Republicans try to shove down America's throat a Republican majority in the House is just another myth dreamed up by Republicans.
One Republican tactic we have become all too familiar with. Republicans lying by saying they seek to help "small businesses" with their trickle-down economics. Even bigger is the lie that any of their opponents are proposing to destroy those same "small businesses". In truth all they really care about is protecting huge corporations from having to pay fair wages, give benefits, pay taxes, and follow sensible regulations. As in the case with President Obama, Republicans care little about the truth or those "small businesses" they use as a talking point.
As always for working Americans when something good happens, something bad is always waiting in the wings to shoot it down. Such is the case today. While Democrats in the Senate barely mustered the votes to end the Bush Tax Cuts for the very wealthy one thing is certain. Certain death awaits in in the Republican controlled House. Even worse, Republicans are determined to hold tax cuts for all Americans hostage to keep the very wealthy from paying more and no lie is too big to tell you about why the 2% of people they really represent should not pay their fair share.
Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are quite predictable. To them, only one America exists and that is the America in which no lie is too big to protect the interests of the rich and powerful elites like them. They know no decency or shame as long as that is just what they are doing. They care nothing about their country or anyone within as long as they can use their power to keep the good times rolling for themselves and their ilk. Now, once again they are telling the big lie in hopes that we will not make them sacrifice anything towards the problems they were so instrumental in causing.
One thing Republicans are always doing is trying to use religion to divide America as a whole. They definately have no problem trying to use religion as a ramrod to divide our country as long as religious leaders agree with them on the issues. Sadly though, when religion refuses to go along with the Republican vision of greed Republican leaders feel the need to correct them on their biblical knowledge. Such was the case today with John Boehner and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
The Prince of Orange has spent so much time in the tanning bed it has cooked his brain. After being so instrumental in the last decade enacting the policies of greed that crashed our economy teamed with the worst President in American history it has definately fried out his brain cells that generate memory. You see, just like every other Republican these days the Prince of Orange either suffers from memory loss due to excessive crack use, to many UV rays or hypocritical selective memory.
If you just mention the thought of the wealthy paying their fair share Repubicans wail in horror. That is "class warfare" and would unjustly punish the "job creators" who somehow aren't creating jobs with cash reserves and low taxes already. While this may explain things in the little old world fantasy they live in the truth is simply another matter. You see all across America millionaires are paying a smaller tax rate than folks making much less money yearly.
Republicans have been doing everything in their power to ignore the crisis they were put partially back into power to solve. The jobs crisis. As Americans have languished they have watched all of Washington ignore them to insure the wealthy are taken care of at the behest of Republicans politicians and many kindred spirits in the Democratic Party. Now that the Prince of Orange John Boehner and the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell have chimed in with their ideas it is easy to see why. These folks have no vision for anything except more Corporate Welfare.
After acting like the selfish, greedy ideologues they are for a almost three years now Republicans are talking about "common ground". Yes before President Obama's jobs speech now John Boehner and Eric Cantor want to talk about "bi-partisanship". However, when you look close at the area of "agreement" you quickly see one thing. To Republicans "compromise" means them getting all their greedy policies that do not benefit Americans besides themselves passed while ignoring the problems that have beset real Americans.
WDRB.com LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Oldham County School officials say they're cracking down on parents who use fake addresses so their children can attend schools in the district. Charles Lauron of Louisville is charged with theft by deception, after his son attended Oldham County schools for eight years, using a friend's Goshen address. That friend is also charged with theft.
In the current debt-limit crises there seems to be one thing that everyone can actually agree on. With much fanfare the two parties are at each other's throats over what plan to use in raising the debt ceiling with only one foregone conclusion. The greediest and least patriotic among us with the House, Senate and White House in tow will be paying nothing. Indeed, neither plan being discussed would raise any new revenue or taxes upon the wealthy.
The Republicans are masters of blaming someone else for doing something they do all the time. They blame President Obama and the Democrats for running up deficits after they themselves spend like drunken sailors and give huge tax breaks to their wealthy pals. But most of all they blame Progressives for creating "class warfare" against all those poor millionaires and billionaires. The truth of the matter is this. They have been waging war against the working class and the poor for a long time now. The Boehner Bill that is languishing in the House is simply a continuation of those idiotic policies.
With the spectacle last night of our President and Speaker of the House "appealing" to the American people one thing became quickly apparent. Our choices for raising the debt limit ceiling for working Americans boil down to this. Simply Horrifying on one side and Quite Terrible on the other.
We all know the modern Republican Party are a bunch of greedy, self-serving ideologues who will do anything to keep themselves and the greediest and least patriotic among us from sacrificing anything to clean up the mess they caused. However, even by their own lofty hypocritical standards their newest excuse takes the cake. You see America, Republicans now think that they should not have to sacrifice to raise our debt limit because they have already "sacrificed enough". Yes, it was really tough on them to horde our national treasure, outsource your job and run the debt we are now haggling over to the moon.
After throwing their hissy-fit and walking out of budget negotiations Republicans have been pressing President Obama to take a personal role in those negotiations. Today they got what they asked for. In a press conference President Obama did just that. However, after giving into Republican demands time and time again in his Presidency fortunately this time he seemed to draw a line in the sand. It appears as if the President expects all this "shared sacrifice" to be shared by the Republicans and their handlers.
There is plenty of whining and gnashing of teeth among politicians about the problems that have beset our country in the last few decades. Problems of their own making that they now expect the working class to pay for even after being decimated. Decimated by the very people who have taken more huge tax cuts, rubber-stamped and continued costly wars while passing out Corporate Welfare like Rush Limbaugh popping Oxycontins. Now, in the midst of all this lunacy however America gets a real look today at what is really wrong with America.
As the debt limit showdown threatens to destroy our country's credit rating one theme is remaining constant. The hypocrisy of Republicans in dealing with the debt they created and blamed on someone else. Now as the logjam continues we are confronted with more of that hypocrisy. Yes, Republicans in Congress, including the Speaker of the House of Hypocrites the Prince of Orange John Boehner, are calling for President Obama to "get serious" about reigning in debt and spending. However, a closer look shows just how serious these Republicans really are.
The Prince of Orange and his crony crooks in Washington are all too predictable. After rubber-stamping all the failed policies that created our debt in the last decade they rode a wave of short voter memories and downright ignorance to once again be able to poison the political process in Washington. Now with a capitulate or complacent Democratic President they have done what they set out to do. Protected themselves and the greediest and least patriotic among us from paying one cent towards the problems they caused after reaping the only rewards from the "trickle-down" policies of the last thirty years that somehow have never made it down.
As a Progressive American that was deeply opposed to the disaster that was the "War on Terror" or the interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan I have struggled with the military intervention in Libya. By nature I do not believe that it is the responsibility of our country to force any government upon anyone or use our power to force something upon them they did not want because we thought it was best. Now, under that context I have begun to see Libya and the "War on Terror" as indeed different animals and can only once again marvel at the mass hypocrisy of the right-wing after their records on the much more costly nation-building in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There is a reason why we call the 112th Congress the "House of Hypocrites". Quite simply, they are a bunch of hypocrites led by a hypocrite. They are all for debt and deficits as long as the money is given to them, and their greedy enablers. Now today they have shown once again their true, greedy colors. You see, they would vote to end the chance at healthcare insurance for over 50 million Americans but guess what?? They will be keeping theirs paid for by those very same Americans.
It is already easy to see what a huge failure the new Republican Congress is destined to be. You see, to solve any problems you must first be able to admit your part in creating the problem. With Republicans that is the one thing they will never do. You see, during their "glory years" of the Bush Administration and a Republican Congress spending like drunken sailors on failed wars, Corporate Welfare, huge tax cuts and all the other failures they managed to run up well over a trillion dollars in debt and crash our economy, requiring even more debt. However, with their own hypocritical selective memories they cannot take any of the responsibility and instead seek to blame those who were straddled with cleaning up their mess. Now, they will demand everyone sacrifice except, you guessed it, them.
Our new House of Representatives. Swept in on an ill-informed, propogandized and handsomely funded tidal wave. Yes, they are supposed to bring new vision and responsibility to our country and change the way Washington works. Which is hard to believe even with the new Republican faces in that chamber because when you look at who will call the shots it is the same old garbage. Yes, the very same people using the very same tacticts and agenda that they already almost completely destroyed our country with. When all is said and done this House of Hypocrites and the hypocrites that lead it will do what they have always done.
Well, the last election gave Republicans control of the House. Of course, the only name for this Republican controlled House can be the "House of Hypocrites", a bunch of hypocrites led by another hypocrite. Yes, these folks want to repeal your healthcare as you pay for theirs. They want to cut your pay as you give them raises. Through it all they will expect you to sacrifice as they and their enablers get fat at the government trough and prey again on American workers.
Ah, the incoming Republican Congress. Led by Corporate whore Republican the Prince of Orange John Boehner. Yes, after campaigning to change the way that Washington does business and transformed by radical, zealous wingnuts this new House is really ready to enact the people's agenda. The people on K St. that is. Yes, it appears as if these new Republicans are really just the old Republicans. Only now with their agenda they seem like they may have been smoking meth to regroup. Well, for their brand of "change" and "accountability" they bring they can only be deemed the newly minted "House of Hypocrites".
The scorn that the elitist Republican leadership holds the average American in is amazing. After two years of being allowed to obstruct everything, and two years of sacrificing American recovery to win an election they got want they wanted. Control of the House. However, fresh off this victory they are determined to insult the American people. I believe that it is not that they are so stupid they do not know what the American people have said, they simply do not care.
The President invited Senators and Representatives to the White House to discuss issues and promote compromise. Son of a bi%*hin' Mitch and Ba^ta#d Boehner refused to attend this meeting.
You know, the Big Butter Jesus Statue burnt down at a holy rollin' mega church in Monroe, Ohio and left only the support structure standing. Since many of the people that attend this "church" help to elect Boehner, they could put a likeness of Boehner over the existing framework as many of the illiterate TEA Partiers believe in a holy rollin' theocracy. We could have a big ba^ta#d Boehner on the side of Interstate 75 in Ohio. After all NO ONE knows what Jesus actually looked like and the Bible tells these "Christians" not to build idols but who cares about what the Bible says this is the TEA Party.
Well, the election earlier this month will soon bring Republicans back into power to a certain degree in Washington D.C. They say elections have consequences and America is quickly going to find out just what that means. You see, there are serious problems that have beset many Americans through no fault of their own. In fact, the very folks to blame for these problems contributed heavily to Republicans in these elections and have long been coddled by them no matter what. Now, they seek to gain a free ride and leave Americans out in the cold.
After two years obstructing and being the party of no and doing their best with their allies in the Corporate Democrats to keep anything that would really help America from actually passing Republicans achieved their goal. They sacrificed American recovery to ferment anger against the Democrats and successfully passed the blame for their own failed policies off to Democrats and to their credit it succeeded. Now, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner want you to think that they have a mandate for all the crap they have always crammed down our our throats to ultimate disaster.
You know in a very strange campaign year one of the most ironic things is watching John Boehner campaign against Washington. While we are used to Republicans running against the very things they did when they held power the nerve shown by Boehner is astounding. Even more astounding is that America seems poised to reward him for his complicity in running our economy in the ground. Yes, far from being an "outsider" John Boehner has been instrumental in all the policies Americans love to hate.
You know, wealthy elitist politicians such as John Boehner have been talking a lot about the deficits they were instrumental in running up. Of course, they do not talk about anything coming out of their own pockets for their incompetence, or about making the wealthy pay for the economy they crashed after decades of a free ride, they talk of course about a way of stealing the Social Security benefits from millions of younger workers, the disabled and and orphaned children and putting it in the pockets of the very rich and of course, themselves. Having lived a life of priviledge and luxury, of course it is very easy to tell hard working Americans they should be forced to work longer for lower wages.
Fox News, far from being news is just an outlet to spew Republican talking points. To see that, one need only look at their "reporting" of the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts for the very wealthy. As soon as some Republican like John Boehner and Kevin McCarthy show up to lie through their teeth in a shameless attempt to keep throwing our country away to the rich the shills at Fox News cannot wait to adopt their talking points. The only problem is that they are wrong, tax cuts for the rich never "trickle-down".
Yes the Republicans have released their plan to finish destroying America with much fanfare from the right-wing media. What none of them will tell you however is that if their plans of throwing the rest of the country's wealth away to the very rich comes to fruition it means only one thing for the rest of us. The loss of over a million jobs. Of course when you have crashed the economy and bailed out Wall St., who cares about Main St.?
With the Republicans releasing their plan to finish their eight year project of destroying America one keen insight was provided by one of their "leaders" today. You see, far from anything different this crop of Republican policies is the same old crap in the same old brown bag. One need not listen very long to realize that. Yes, John Boehner as much as admitted it.
With Republicans thinking they will be riding the maniacal tea-bag movement to victory in November, John Boehner is really hoping to be Speaker of the House. Despite his role in helping engineer the Republican economic collapse of 2008 it now appears to be a real possibility. However, despite rubber-stamping every failed policy that led to the problems our country faces, Boehner has more baggage than just being a failed leader within a failed party. He has always been on the auction block, and now that he thinks he may be in a position to finish destroying our country the bidding is open.
John Boehner gave his little sales pitch on why he should be Speaker of the House today. Of course, he conveniently left out the part where the same failed policies he recommended for the future failed so miserably in the past giving us the mess we are so desperately trying to clean up without the help of Boehner and his ilk. But then again why should they help?? They already got their bailout. Another thing missing from the Prince of Orange's radar today was the fact that he, like the whole Republican Party is trying to steal your Social Security to pay for tax cuts for the rich and Corporate Welfare.
Well, the Prince of Orange in revving up his campaign to be Speaker of the House of Representatives. As with everything Republicans do nowadays, his campaign is long on bluster and short on memory and facts. Of course, like Mitch McConnell on Sunday he has to conveniently hope the American people forget his role in rubber-stamping President Bush and his policies which crashed the economy. He also has to hope you do not look at the way he has voted.
Of all the great myths pushed off on America as fact one of the ones with the most far-reaching implications for many people is the myth that Social Security is insolvent. Of course this myth is perpetrated by those who have hated Social Security since it's onset but have been forced to remain silent because Social Security is such a beneficial and popular program to so many. However, some within Corporate America, Wall St., and the Republican Party have long salivated over destroying the only retirement many millions of Americans will ever afford and in fact they almost did completely destroy it once. Just think what would have happened if George W. Bush would have been able to privatize Social Security like he wanted before he crashed the economy off a cliff. The modern robber-barons who pull the strings and REALLY steal freedoms would have gotten their wish yet again.
August will mark 75 years since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Social Security legislation into law. Today, this has been the most successful safety net for American retirees, insuring that millions of the elderly and disabled do not live in poverty. However, now with the deficit caused by Republican policies of spend and spend and put two wars and numerous tax cuts on your credit card, Social Security is coming under attack. Of course they cannot blame their own policies of Corporate Welfare and huge tax cuts for the rich so instead of upsetting the Chamber of Commerce they will try to steal your retirement to make up the difference.
Two things that have taken a lot of heat lately is the Economic Stimulus and the Social Security insurance for America. In front of the federal budget deficit commission he argued that deficit spending is the best way to reduce and stabilize the national debt by stabilizing the economy and creating jobs. Meanwhile, others are defending Social Security against those who would continue to eliminate or privatize it.
Nowadays it seems as if Republicans are already taking a victory lap in the fight to control the House of Representatives. On radio and in print and on the television airwaves we hear how America is going to entrust itself to Republican leadership in Congress once more. Now, if our memories are actually that short and we cannot remember what party in leadership of all three branches of government recently almost completely crashed our country off a cliff and now complain incessantly at the folks trying to clean up there mess, I just have one question to ask. Hey America, Speaker Boehner??
While I have been disappointed with and ripped into President Obama on occasion the Republican response to his new budget completely defines hypocrisy. Before saying anything, they should consider exactly who got us into the mess we are in- THEM. Their control of our government was a disaster for our country.
As soon as we learned there was a failed terror act I am sure many of us suspected that pretty soon the Republicans would be trying to score cheap political points off what had happened. Instead of being happy that the plot did indeed fail and lives were not loss, they must try and find ways to frame it to their advantage in the all too eager media. Now, I have been as disgusted as anyone with some of President Obama's leadership on Afghanistan and healthcare but I honestly believe the attacks that are coming are being made by hypocrites who have nothing else to offer.
With the state of the economy and the healthcare fight, Republicans all over the airwaves see themselves as poised to make huge gains in the House and Senate late next year in the mid-term elections. However, here in the real world, a place that seemingly does not exist in the Republican mindset the numbers may tell a different story. While President Obama and the Congress have lost some of their shine and popularity, it appears as if the American people simply despise the Republican Party, their leaders and tactics.
As some of you that read here regularly may have noticed, I have not refrained from ripping into Democrats and Congress here lately when I feel that they are wrong. Unfortunately, too many times here lately I find myself almost as disgusted with Democrats as Republicans. However, this is not something I take particular pleasure in. I would much rather be talking about the good things my party is doing for our country and today I finally get a chance to do that, although as always it is tempered by the fact that many elected Democrats are quite simply bought and paid for, gutless, and belong in the elitist, uncaring party on the other side of the aisle, the Republicans.
Not long ago we found out that my Republican Congressman, Exxon Ed Whitfield had been partying hard and living the high life in Hollywood on PAC money. Well, not to be outdone by any Floridian, I mean Kentuckian the most elite Prince of Orange has made sure that Exxon Eddie does not get to have all the fun.
Before opening your big mouth, sometimes it is best to know what the hell you are talking about. This is one lesson Republicans in Congress just refuse to learn. For so very long, they offered up no ideas for healthcare reform and when they did they offered TORT Reform and allowing insurance companies to prey upon consumers across state lines. As if that were not bad enough, now a Republican Congressman has opened his mouth and once again inserted his own foot in it.
I think it is common knowledge that Republicans have absolutely no new ideas or vision. They offer the same failed, worn out policies as solutions no matter the situation. However, in the case of Mitch McConnell he not only has nothing but a failed vision to spew like gospel, but he is completely and totally out of touch with reality. So much to the point that it is embarrassing!!
The House of Representatives today voted to expand the definition of hate-crimes legislation to include sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or disability. This legislation was the culmination of years of attempts to curtail the type of crimes such as the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Wyoming who was murdered in 1998. It comes as Human Rights groups prepare to march upon Washington this weekend which will be culminated by a speech to the Human Rights Campaign by President Obama.
Well, the most artificially tan Congressman in the country has spoken again. Yes, the "Prince of Orange" has opened his mouth and the usual garbage has spewed forth. Maybe he is mad because we are not discussing the healthcare bill covering tanning bed visits, or maybe he is just too beholden to the healthcare industry and the health insurance and drug companies but one thing is clear. He must not be talking to Ohioans.
From the "Man, it sure took long enough" category, it appears as if maybe finally some Republicans are tiring of the looney-tune reactions of their own party. It took some guy making a fool of himself on national T.V. and in front of millions of people but the outburst by Joe Wilson during Obama's speech, when he of course shouted out a lie about Obama lying may have finally caused enough of a shudder up the spines of Republicans that some of them may say enough is enough.
Last night we heard a speech from a young, charismatic Democratic President that undeniably inspired many within our party. We all heard how even a Congressman in a joint session of Congress showed the disrespect Republicans everywhere have shown in townhalls, disrespecting their elected leaders and neighbors by shouting over others even when it was not their turn to speak. However, despite feeling the obvious disgust at an extremist that is just determined to not hear the truth I came away with the impression that yes, maybe Progressives can work with these people and maybe they should.
Jesus is stated to have visited the Temple in Jerusalem, Herod's Temple, at which the courtyard is described as being filled with livestock and the tables of the money changers, who changed the standard Greek and Roman money for Jewish and Tyrian money, which were the only coinage that could be used in Temple ceremonies. According to the Gospels, Jesus took offense to this (extorting profit from the people to hear the word of God), and so, creating a whip from some cords, drives out the money changers, and turns over their tables, and those of the people selling doves Matthew[21:13] And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased, Jesus said, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8).
Many of us have known all along that the right-wing loons will do anything to maintain the status-quo and the profits of the greediest and least patriotic among us. We knew they would fight tooth-and-nail with misleading propoganda and downright lies. Well, we have not been disappointed. They have unleashed a propoganda campaign that has fed a consistent line of lies that unfortunately many have started to believe. Lets looks at some of the Right-wing myths compared to the hard realities.
You know, since the stimulus a funny thing has been happening. The very Republicans who dreamed up and enabled the very policies that crashed our economy off a cliff have been the ones the most critical of the efforts to fix it. Of course, in the sick twisted mind of the Republican a bailout for the bankers was perfectly justified, but the rest of us not so much.
The current Republican hypocrisy on the Economy is simply mind-boggling. Foremost among a myriad of hypocrites in John Boehner, who is speaking on what he sees as the Democratic failure to rescue the economy. What he is not speaking on is the fact that were it not for his party's "leadership" and rubber-stamping the failed policies of the Worst President in American History, the economy would not need rescuing.
You know, much adeu has been made of comedian Al Franken joining the Senate. Well, it comes to find out he is not the only jokester in this Congress. John Boehner's comments today are not only a joke, but they reek of serious amnesia. Maybe during the pounding his narrow-minded, visionless party took last year he could have taken a shot to the head or something.
The complete and total hypocrisy of the Republicans sometimes is too much to bear. I seem to remember one party totally in power for six years that gave birth to all the failed policies that crashed our economy. That was the Republican Party with Boehner as one of it's "leaders". Now he is worried about a lot of things that used to make him happy.
