While I might have been somewhat disappointed in the financial regulation bill that was passed because I felt it did go far enough, it is curious to here the spin in the right-wing community. Somehow, regulating the bankers and Wall St. some is going to hurt all of us, the little people. Even after getting a watered down version Wall St. and their Corporate apologists have made one thing perfectly clear. They wanted the old system they crashed to remain intact. Now, they are relegated to spreading worthless propaganda once more.
Man, Glenn Beck is really confused. When he is not making Death Metal records, he is as wrong as the day is long. In a shameless attempt to propogandize and fire up the least patriotic and most weak minded among us he will resort to anything. In trying to paint Obama as incompetent in his handling of the Gulf Oil Spill, even lies are not out of the norm for Beck. His latest, the Navy has not been involved in the Gulf Oil Spill is easily disproven.
A lot of the Republican politicians and talking heads say it is time that we quit "blaming Bush" for the problems besetting this country. They constantly maintain how Democrats have driven the deficit to new highs. However, as always with these hypocritical Republicans the truth is far from their own twisted sense of reality. You see, far away from tea-bag wonderland here in the real world many of the problems we face were caused by the very people that rail so hard against them.
We are used to always hearing about some idiotic drivel coming from Glenn Beck. It has become quite customary for him to insult the intelligence of the American people and even the mindless drones who believe him who have no intelligence on a regular basis. Now, not only does he show his complete and total ignorance on the mindset of President Obama, but he is comparing Progressives in this country to Marxists.
Well, we have a healthcare bill passed in the House. While I have very mixed feelings on the bill, it is at least a step in the right direction, albeit a baby step. However, as while I wanted the bill to be stronger and fear it's fate in the "House of Lords" known as the U.S. Senate, I will not sit idly by as Conservative idiot "pundits" lie about the process which gave birth to this historical vote.
Earlier I wrote this diary about Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh greatly exaggerating the numbers of folks that turned out at the D.C. Tea Party. Now it appears as if they are definately not alone. All across the Right-Wing Loon Machine, the two million exaggerations persisted:
Well, we knew it was coming. Senator Kennedy has not even been buried yet and already the right-wing media is trying to use him to drum up opposition to his life cause, Universal Healthcare in America. Not only are these attacks upon his legacy misleading they are thoroughly disgusting. Of course we have come to expect this from a group of people that have absolutely no positive vision for the future of our country and can offer up only hatred and lies in opposition to progress.
I did a little piece on myths vs. realities in the healthcare fight the other day. However, Media matters released such an article that dwarfs mine and is well worth the time to read. It dispels many myths in the healthcare fight completely.
