Click here to view photos of the event. The videos are after the fold. I hope the Kentucky Democratic Party and the Jack Conway campaign read this, because I have some advice for both of them. The Kentucky Democratic Party has had it's head in the sand for over a year now and has let the Tea Party folks capture the imagination of regular people here in Kentucky. We here at Hillbilly Report warned them, but it appears they were too busy looking for Republicans to raise their money and reading some blogs here in Kentucky, that seem to be more interested in their advertising revenues, rather than taking the time to get off their asses to go out in the field and see what's really going on here in Kentucky. As for Jack Conway, he needs to grow a pair and stop talking like "One Tough Son of a Bitch" and start acting like one. To tell you the truth I've had enough of "Wussie World" here in Kentucky.
The Central Kentucky Tea Party Patriots claim to be independent of any political party, but they seemed very comfortable giving Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid Hell, while remaining silent about Mitch McConnell, Jim Bunning and Brett Guthrie. Could it be that the The Central Kentucky Tea Party Patriots are afraid to call out Mitch McConnell, Jim Bunning and Brett Guthrie? Or do they think Mitch McConnell, Jim Bunning and Brett Guthrie are above being criticized? More plus photos after the fold.
February 26, 2010 Evansville, Indiana. Click here to see our previous post about Whirlpool moving 1100 of our jobs to Mexico. The folks in Evansville, Indiana let Whirlpool know that moving to Mexico might not be a good idea. We covered the event with photos (click here to view photos) and videos (the videos are after the page break) hoping to give our readers a flavor of what transpired in Evansville, Indiana February 26, 2010 and according to our sources the Evansville police estimated 5500 were at the rally.
Richard Trumka had this to say: "What’s happening here in Evansville is a head-on collision between corporate greed and failed economic policies-and it’s happening all across our country." Click here to see the video.
Activist in Louisville held a health care rally across the street from Humana in Louisville Kentucky Thursday 10.29.09. They held a press conference at 10:00 am and then marched across the street to the Humana building, entered the building, sit down and started singing and chanting peacefully. Humana shut the building down at 6:00 pm leaving the the protesters with no restroom facilities and told the protesters if they left the building to use the restroom they would not be able to get back in. The protesters decided to spend the night. I called Rev. David Bos, retired Louisville Presbyterian minister and one of the protesters staying overnight at Humana around 3:00am this morning and he said they were going to leave the building around noon Friday 10.30.09.

I had been watching and following Ali Velshi and the CNN Express when it started in Georgia and when I heard they were coming to Paducah I knew I had to be there. I followed them on CNN and twitter and had a good idea when they might arrive in Paducah, but I didn't know where exactly where they were going to be. I gambled and went downtown. My gamble paid off. Minutes after I arrived The CNN Express pulled in, Ali Velshi and all. I immediately began to shoot video and much to my surprise Ali Velshi asked me for an interview. We did the interview and I resumed shooting video and taking photos. As people began to gather around The CNN Express Mike Watt a free lance and political photographer suggested that CNN Express have a Town Hall meeting there. The CNN Express crew liked the idea and got several people to participate. I wasn't asked to be part of the group and had no input. All I was interested in was shooting video and photos. While shooting video of the impromptu Town Hall meeting I was approached by what I consider a very rude young man. He asked me, who picked these people to be on the Town Hall panel? I responded by asking him what do you mean by these people? He responded by asking me, do you know these people? I responded by asking him do you know these people? He responded by asking me if I was with CNN? I told him no. I asked him again what he meant when he said these people and he began to say a few things about Heather Ryan. We then got into what I consider a heated discussion he reached over and touched my arm and I pretty much told him where to go! The young man then went over to Mike Watt and began talking to Mike and then managed to worm his way in to the impromptu Town Hall Meeting and make, what I consider, a total ass of himself on national TV with the infamous Hummer comment. Of course that's just my opinion.
Click here to read RDemocrat's post about this. Paducah, Kentucky a place where folks send "Black Hurricane" emails and part of a county that gave John McCain and Sarah Palin 61.9% of the vote in the 2008 Presidential election was visited by Ali Velshi and the CNN Express. CNN seems to be trying to get a feel as to how regular folks feel about Health Care Reform. So when the CNN Express bus pulled up in Paducah, what do you think happened? Well it was pretty uneventful in the beginning. The CNN Express didn't let anyone know where they going to be and when they going to be there. Smart move because this eliminated the junk going on at some of the so called Town Hall Meetings. Ali Velshi and his crew went right to work interviewing folks and as folks began to gather around the CNN Express, Mike Watt a free lance photographer suggested to Ali Velshi that he Ali Velshi hold a Town Hall Meeting right there on Paducah's Riverfront. Ali Velshi ran with that and a impromptu Town Hall Meeting was set up. The CNN Express crew wired folks up with wireless mikes, brought chairs out of the CNN Express bus and set up the impromptu Town Hall Meeting inside a gazebo right there on Paducah's River Front.
Can you believe it? Right smack dab in the middle of Red State Kentucky progressive Democrats hold a Health Care Rally. Democratic candidates Darlene Price and Jim Holbert spoke at the event, as did Democratic activist Halyn Roth. Darlene is a Democratic Primary candidate for the U.S. Senate and Jim Holbert is a Democratic candidate for Kentucky's 5th Congressional District. Gatewood Galbraith also spoke at the event. Click here to see Photos. Videos of Darlene, Jim and Halyn are after the hump.
Kudos to Doug Goodman and Dottye Moore for putting on this 3rd annual Doug Goodman event. Doug Goodman is a real Democrat and believe me that's something hard to find here in Hardin County. He has put on this event for three years and pays for it out of his own pocket. I understand that Dottye Moore helped with the expenses this year. Special thanks to Winnie Townsend for making me aware of the event. We had the opportunity to shoot photos of the event click here to view them. I shot them in the 1280x960 mode and they will be good enough for you to print out if you wish. Be advised they are for personal use only and not to be used for any other reason. Just follow the instructions at the Photobucket site to download the photo you want. Videos and more after the hump.
