Obama Wants to Take Your Fishing Poles??

by: RDemocrat

Wed Mar 10, 2010 at 21:30:11 PM EST

Man for so many years in rural America we have heard that Democrats would take our guns, although no Democrat has taken a gun from a rural American that I know. Now, it appears as if the guns aren't all Obama and the rest of us in the "Socialist-Nazi-Communist" cabal that is trying to turn the Capital into Red Square want to seize from rural Americans. Yes, now the good ole boys had better brace for the next fight. Yes, Glenn Beck watchers now we want your fishing poles!!

Right-Wing Talking Heads Demonstrate Heartlessness of Republicans

by: RDemocrat

Sun Feb 28, 2010 at 11:22:24 AM EST

We all know how heartless and idiotic the Republican talking heads who give voice to the greediest and least patriotic among us can be. However, last week these folks proved yet again just how devoid of compassion for fellow Americans and indeed human beings they are if it means them sacrificing anything to that end. Yes, the right-wing talk show host mentality demonstrates nicely everything that is wrong in this country.

Tea-Party Scam

by: RDemocrat

Sat Jan 02, 2010 at 11:21:44 AM EST

You know the tea-baggers probably should change their names. The "taxed enough already" thing just does not fit. One of the main reasons it does not is that their taxes have not even been raised yet. Another reason is that they are being scammed by power-brokers in the Republican Party. I guess a more fitting name would be "sea-baggers" as they have been "scammed enough already".

The Year in Hate: Part 1

by: RDemocrat

Tue Dec 22, 2009 at 01:13:16 AM EST

Since the ending of the year is upon us with the help of Media Matters, here at Hillbilly Report we want to revisit some of the most hate-filled, maniacal, and un-American comments made by some of the most ignorant folks on the planet. Unfortunately most of these folks have a multitude of brainwashed zombies to soak this hatred in like gospel.

Right-Wing Pundits Smear Pelosi on Transparency

by: RDemocrat

Sun Nov 08, 2009 at 11:00:40 AM EST

Well, we have a healthcare bill passed in the House. While I have very mixed feelings on the bill, it is at least a step in the right direction, albeit a baby step. However, as while I wanted the bill to be stronger and fear it's fate in the "House of Lords" known as the U.S. Senate, I will not sit idly by as Conservative idiot "pundits" lie about the process which gave birth to this historical vote.

Rush Limbaugh Serves the Cheese With his Whine

by: RDemocrat

Thu Oct 15, 2009 at 18:49:43 PM EDT

Poor Rush Limbaugh. Maybe he should learn that if you want to spew lies and propoganda about other folks then there is a price to pay. Sure, it may make you a hero to some of the most insufferable people on earth, but everyone else cannot stand you. After over twenty years of spewing ignorance, hate and idiocy he simply refuses to admit than anyone else but himself is to blame for most of America simply loathing him.

Pelosi Attacks Should Create New Strategy of Governance

by: RDemocrat

Fri Sep 18, 2009 at 20:40:05 PM EDT

On the top of the Republican hate list either just over or just under Barack Obama is Nancy Pelosi. Being from the vilified city of San Francisco, it seems every self-righteous wingnut in the world loves to hate Nancy. While I do not always agree with her, this unending attack and vilification from the right has actually whipped up a little sympathy for our Speaker of the House, I just wish she would quit playing footsies with these folks and fight them with all the resources at our disposal.

More On Outrageously Inflated Tea-Bagger Numbers

by: RDemocrat

Mon Sep 14, 2009 at 21:37:00 PM EDT

Earlier I wrote this diary about Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh greatly exaggerating the numbers of folks that turned out at the D.C. Tea Party. Now it appears as if they are definately not alone. All across the Right-Wing Loon Machine, the two million exaggerations persisted:

Right-Wing Loons Freak Out Over Stay In School Speech

by: RDemocrat

Thu Sep 03, 2009 at 11:40:03 AM EDT

Man, the right-wing lunatics in this country freak out over any little thing President Obama does. Since he is governing from the center, one has to wonder what they would do if a real Progressive was ever elected. Oh well, the latest case in point is them freaking out over Obama giving a speech to school age kids on the importance of staying in school to their own futures and the future of our country. It seems they feel truancy is a better alternative.

Yet Another Right-Wing Hypocrisy

by: RDemocrat

Fri Aug 28, 2009 at 00:39:03 AM EDT

Senator Kennedy's death broke the hearts of many Progressives and is firing them up to pass his life's work, Universal Healthcare. It is common sense to rename the healthcare bill after Kennedy since he has worked as hard as anyone to bring it about. However, despite that Republicans seem to be taking issue with Democrats "using" Kennedy's name to do something he wanted done.

Right-Wing Radio Hate

by: RDemocrat

Wed Aug 26, 2009 at 22:21:13 PM EDT

We have been detailing how the Right-Wing lunatic radio station in Paducah is propogandizing Western Kentucky voters by the means of a church. Our main point is that such hate-filled folks with hate-filled rhetoric have no business in a church. Well, lets listen to some of the hate played today by WKYX-WKYQ:

Religous Hate in Western Kentucky Borders on Cultism

by: RDemocrat

Sun Aug 23, 2009 at 21:52:21 PM EDT

We have detailed both here and here about how a far-right radio station owned by Bristol Broadcasting is holding a propoganda meeting in a church. They feature a panel of "knowledgable people" including a right-wing reporter, and a Doctor who is a huge contributor to Republicans who will present far-right-wing talking points as fact and will attempt to propogandize religous folks in Western Kentucky.

Media Matters Myths Vs. Realities

by: RDemocrat

Thu Aug 20, 2009 at 21:25:44 PM EDT

I did a little piece on myths vs. realities in the healthcare fight the other day. However, Media matters released such an article that dwarfs mine and is well worth the time to read. It dispels many myths in the healthcare fight completely.

Right-Wing Myth Versus Hard Reality

by: RDemocrat

Wed Aug 19, 2009 at 22:15:32 PM EDT

Many of us have known all along that the right-wing loons will do anything to maintain the status-quo and the profits of the greediest and least patriotic among us. We knew they would fight tooth-and-nail with misleading propoganda and downright lies. Well, we have not been disappointed. They have unleashed a propoganda campaign that has fed a consistent line of lies that unfortunately many have started to believe. Lets looks at some of the Right-wing myths compared to the hard realities.

Republicans Roll out the Gipper To Their Own Shame

by: RDemocrat

Mon Aug 17, 2009 at 21:05:16 PM EDT

Across the lunatic wingnut airwaves this week a funny thing happened. Ronald Reagan was summoned from the dead once again. While that was not funny in itself because it is daily occurence this particular summoning was quite ironic. Having fired up the elderly in America telling them they are going to lose their coverage and face "death panels" made up of rabid Nazis, Republicans trotted out dear old Ronnie to tell all of America about the dastardly evils of Medicaire. The same Medicaire that millions of seniors now enjoy and rely on.

This Sums it up Nicely....

by: RDemocrat

Mon Aug 17, 2009 at 00:46:28 AM EDT

Want to know the state of things in Western Kentucky? We have a very right-wing radio station which plays lunatics such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck during the day. Their views are broadcast daily, and since Republicans own the airwaves and the printed news around here go uncontested in successfully propogandizing the masses.

In Retrospect: Who is Really Un-American??

by: RDemocrat

Sat Jul 11, 2009 at 21:43:36 PM EDT

You know, one thing I get so sick of hearing from all the right-wing loons is how Progressives like myself and many of you are un-American. We have our patriotism questioned on a daily basis. Right-Wing idiots on the radio rail about how we do not believe in the Constitution and the values this country was founded on. Well, details that have emerged in the last couple of days show that the Bush Administration and their shameless enablers in the Republican Party and the former Republican Congress are the ones who really do not believe in the Constitution, or the freedoms granted by it.

Poverty causing people to snap, commit violence.

by: Archangel M

Sun Apr 19, 2009 at 09:34:29 AM EDT

(Great diary!! This should concern everyone. - promoted by RDemocrat)

Cross-posted from www.Progressive-Independence.org

I was perusing a certain kind of ideological web site when I came upon the following article by Nicole Colson.

ONE AFTER another over the last month, the reports of terrible incidents of violence kept coming:

-- A Vietnamese immigrant in Binghamton, N.Y., increasingly paranoid about police and upset after losing his job, kills 13 people at a center for immigrants before committing suicide.

-- An Alabama man who had struggled to keep a job kills 10 people in a shooting spree before committing suicide.

-- A Pittsburgh man, recently unemployed and afraid that the government would ban guns, opens fire on police responding to a domestic disturbance call, killing three.

These are just some of the recent eruptions of violence to make the headlines in U.S. newspapers. In the 30-day period between March 10 and April 10, there were at least nine multiple shootings across the U.S., claiming the lives of at least 58 people.

The individual motives and stories differ widely, but there's a common thread among these incidents--the worsening economic crisis is becoming a factor in pushing some people who are already on the edge over it.

It seems nearly everyone is concerned with the ever-shrinking middle class, but almost no one is willing to discuss the social class those middlings are being tossed into: the POOR.  The platform, speaking for the poor, that John Edwards ran on during last year's presidential election primaries resulted in his marginalization and eventual banishment from the public discourse as the elite weeded out those candidates who dare point out the disease of poverty.  But just because the messengers were silenced does not mean the larger problem went away; it continues to fester, with disastrous social consequences.
