Right-Wing Loons Freak Out Over Stay In School Speech

by: RDemocrat

Thu Sep 03, 2009 at 11:40:03 AM EDT

Man, the right-wing lunatics in this country freak out over any little thing President Obama does. Since he is governing from the center, one has to wonder what they would do if a real Progressive was ever elected. Oh well, the latest case in point is them freaking out over Obama giving a speech to school age kids on the importance of staying in school to their own futures and the future of our country. It seems they feel truancy is a better alternative.

Don't Think Ignorance Rules Townhall Protesters? Think Again

by: RDemocrat

Sat Aug 29, 2009 at 00:00:30 AM EDT

In a stunning piece over at thinkprogress Amanda Terkel gives us a shocking insight. Many like me have contended that these folks are whipped into a frenzy with disinformation and actually know nothing of what they were speaking about. Well, Ms. Terkel seems to have confirmed our fears.

Religous Hate in Western Kentucky Borders on Cultism

by: RDemocrat

Sun Aug 23, 2009 at 21:52:21 PM EDT

We have detailed both here and here about how a far-right radio station owned by Bristol Broadcasting is holding a propoganda meeting in a church. They feature a panel of "knowledgable people" including a right-wing reporter, and a Doctor who is a huge contributor to Republicans who will present far-right-wing talking points as fact and will attempt to propogandize religous folks in Western Kentucky.

"Death Panel" Idea had Familiar Beginnings

by: RDemocrat

Fri Aug 14, 2009 at 11:50:41 AM EDT

One of the things that has fired some folks up is the reporting that under Universal Healthcare older folks and those with health problems would have to stand in front of "Death Panels". This idea seemingly came from nowhere and has been pushed by irresponsible politicians such as Sarah Palin who want to score political points and defeat sane discussion.

Some Hard Truths on the Fairness Doctrine

by: RDemocrat

Wed Aug 12, 2009 at 20:51:01 PM EDT

A license permits broadcasting, but the licensee has no constitutional right to be the one who holds the license or to monopolize a...frequency to the exclusion of his fellow citizens. There is nothing in the First Amendment which prevents the Government from requiring a licensee to share his frequency with others.... It is the right of the viewers and listeners, not the right of the broadcasters, which is paramount. — U.S. Supreme Court, upholding the constitutionality of the Fairness Doctrine in Red Lion Broadcasting Co. v. FCC, 1969.

Obama Attempts to Dispel Some Lunatic Healthcare Arguments

by: RDemocrat

Wed Aug 12, 2009 at 11:58:15 AM EDT

Although it appears my interview with CNN trying to inject some sanity into the healthcare argument hit the cutting room floor, someone who CAN be heard is trying to dispel some of the lunatic fringe arguments on healthcare. President Obama was in New Hampshire and tried to dispel some of the more insane rumors spread by the opponents of Universal Healtcare on what it will actually mean.

Glenn Beck Musical Interlude

by: RDemocrat

Mon Aug 10, 2009 at 01:34:45 AM EDT

Ah, Glenn Beck. The man is part out there like Pluto and part phoney. Nobody knew he was a multi-talented musician though. Wanted to give everyone a Glenn Beck Musical interlude to start your morning.

My personal favorite, death metal:

Town Hall Protests About Stealing Freedoms From Constituents

by: RDemocrat

Fri Aug 07, 2009 at 20:22:27 PM EDT

I want to make one thing perfectly clear. At Hillbilly Report we completely support the right of any American to assemble peacefully and protest anything against the government they see fit. The recent spate of townhall protests are no exception. However, I want to share some thoughts on protests like this and behaviors and consequences of those behaviors at a protest.

Rep. Israel Rips Limbaugh for Newest Idiocy

by: RDemocrat

Thu Aug 06, 2009 at 20:48:14 PM EDT

It is no secret to many that Rush Limbaugh will say anything. In defense of Republican Corporate talking-points and the most maniacal faction of the lunatic right-wing fringe he will state any lie. His positions do not have to make any sense they are just out there to inflame the weakest minded of the weak-minded that believe anything they are told by Corporate America through corrupt Republican commentators and politicians.

Rockefeller: Obama Needs to "Get Tough" On Healthcare Reform

by: RDemocrat

Tue Aug 04, 2009 at 12:47:36 PM EDT

Soon after being elected it seemed Barack Obama had all the political capital in the world. He used a lot of it to get the measures through to deal with the Republican crashed economy. While that effort is still on-going there are signs that the stimulus has indeed started working as the economy slowly tries to correct itself. However, where the most political capital is needed is on the urgent issue of Healthcare Reform.
