Republicans across the country are bearing down, hoping that voting against any Democratic proposal will get them back in power this fall to complete their destruction of our country next year. They are running on a platform of hatred for the federal government and while they preach "jobs" they care nothing about saving or creating them if Democrats get credit. They hope to break any power of the federal government and leave all the responsibility on cash-strapped states. Yes, even when the benefits of federal funding come home to their states they still vote no.
Democrats and particularly President Obama have been taking a lot of heat over the stimulus bill. Now, a lot of people that complain about the stimulus so loudly try to attribute the TARP bailout somehow to Obama too. Despite the fact that Obama was not President when the economy crashed and the banks were bailed out suddenly it is all his doing.
Sorry for the lack of posts, I have taken up a second job and time is limited. Today, there was a lot of news on the Healthcare front. It seems as if everyone is having some kind of problem or another with the way things are going. We have Corporate Democrats and Republicans who seemingly want no reform and are stalling for time, we have others calling for the states to take responsibility for a public option, and we have union middle-class workers crying foul for being expected to sacrifice even more as the drama rolls on.
