Boy, leave it to the media in this country. They are so wrapped up in a good story they care little about the very thing they are supposed to do. Tell the American people the truth. With the new right-wing media and the old supposedly "liberal" media that is close to right-wing, America gets a raw deal when it comes to getting the truth reported to them. Take the response to Obama's Iraq speech as an example. Who do the media look to to respond?? The liars who got us into a huge, costly, idiotic mistake to begin with.
With so many people rallying in Washington over the weekend led by charlatans and hypocrites Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, who have convinced themselves they are heirs to the civil rights movement the real rally that will bring real civil rights to our country must begin. While it will not be led by false prophets who care only for their own greed and seek to brainwash their audiences that they care about anyone but the greediest and least patriotic among us it will need to take the route of the civil rights movement they have sought to hijack. You see, in the south we see all that has been going wrong in this country. Exploitation of workers, low wages, few worker protections and low union representation and the disasterous effects of bad trade deals and uncaring, greedy "Conservative" representation.
All over the country Republicans are drooling over their prospects at getting back into power and continuing their policies that divided our country and destroyed our economy. However, to do so they have to hope the electorate is very forgetful. Yes, is has been just a few short years since a Republican Congress teamed with the worst President in American history drove our country into a ditch. Now, to regain power Republicans need not remember any of that, but the greater need for McConnell and his ilk is the need to mislead.
It has been common knowledge for quite some time that Fox News is nothing but right-wing propaganda spewed like gospel and is far from "fair and balanced". Its whole existence is designed to shill for the interests of the greediest and least patriotic among us just like they were founded to do. Now, if any of the mind-numb among us need another clue that they are being had, the "News" Corporation is clearly showing them.
One of the worst things happening all over the right-wing media right now is a continual blaming of President Obama for things that President Bush did while being enabled by a Republican Congress for six years. Yes, all over the country Republicans are going to extremes to paint Obama as the cause for a clearly Republican crash and several of the bailouts that followed. They even go as far as trying to say Obama has been in office for three years. However, as always with Republicans the facts just never bear out the crap they try to feed the American people.
Of all the great myths pushed off on America as fact one of the ones with the most far-reaching implications for many people is the myth that Social Security is insolvent. Of course this myth is perpetrated by those who have hated Social Security since it's onset but have been forced to remain silent because Social Security is such a beneficial and popular program to so many. However, some within Corporate America, Wall St., and the Republican Party have long salivated over destroying the only retirement many millions of Americans will ever afford and in fact they almost did completely destroy it once. Just think what would have happened if George W. Bush would have been able to privatize Social Security like he wanted before he crashed the economy off a cliff. The modern robber-barons who pull the strings and REALLY steal freedoms would have gotten their wish yet again.
We are getting quite used to Sarah Palin opening her mouth and idiotic nonsense spewing forth. However, in the case of the expiring Bush tax cuts she has passed beyond idiocy and become a complete liar. You see, Democrats are in favor of retaining all the tax cuts for everyone except high-end earners. You know, the Republican base that has plenty of money to support folks like Palin and the propaganda they spread to convince you to let the wealthy have more of your money.

Well, the Oxymoron is at it again. Yes, the fattest, ugliest, and most drug-addicted cheerleader to ever don a mini-skirt for the greediest and least patriotic among us must be high on the Hillbilly Heroin once again. He just cannot seem to get his facts straight in his stoned-out stupor. I have been trying to show some real facts on this site lately about the real cause of America's debt and our deficits but of course after popping a few Oxys like M&Ms, Limbaugh loses all his memory.
What do you do when you are the third ranking member in the House and your party's policies when enacted almost completely crashed our country into a ditch?? What do you do when the opposition party is desperately trying to clean up the mess you created?? What do you do when you cannot let the working American know what you really feel about them, except when Rand Paul accidentally lets it slip out?? What do you do when you care nothing about average Americans but only seek to enrich the greediest and least patriotic among us?? Of course, you lie through your teeth about what you really believe and what the other party really wants.
While I might have been somewhat disappointed in the financial regulation bill that was passed because I felt it did go far enough, it is curious to here the spin in the right-wing community. Somehow, regulating the bankers and Wall St. some is going to hurt all of us, the little people. Even after getting a watered down version Wall St. and their Corporate apologists have made one thing perfectly clear. They wanted the old system they crashed to remain intact. Now, they are relegated to spreading worthless propaganda once more.
Well we knew the fight over reform for our financial markets would be joined soon and right on cue the fighting has begun. Many people thought this was the one issue we may all be able to agree on but of course the usual suspects at the behest of big business are rising up to fight even common sense proposals and just seem to want to keep things the way they were and allow another crash if need be. As long as they still get to make no-risk investments and get away scot-free. No risk investments getting bailed out and all is just so nice I would assume.
We always hear in elections the doomsday scenarios from Republicans on taxes. We always hear how Democrats will and are raising our taxes and why the "Bush Tax Cuts" are so very important. However, the honest truth of the matter is that under Democrats more Americans pay LESS taxes. Yes, it appears as if the Republican beef with taxes is not that they want them cut but that they only want them cut on the very few.
It is no secret that in this current environment with so many workers unemployed, underemployed and making less money that anger is rampant among American workers. It is understandable as working America watches the bankers who crashed our economy costing them millions of jobs get bailed out while in every town in America they are still hurting. This on top of the fact that Corporate America has stagnated wages on jobs they have not shipped overseas to virtual slave markets. Yes, anger is justified and rampant in many unemployment lines and workplaces. However, working America must be very careful of how to channel this understandable anger. You see, just like in past days forces of hatred are seeking to divide workers keeping them from forming a united front to really change this country and their own lots in life.
I wrote this diary the other day about the uproar caused by President Obama calling out the idiotic rhetoric coming from folks like Rush Limbaugh and ultimate stooge Glenn Beck. Yes, the President committed the ultimate sin of saying that being called a Nazi, a communist and the executioner of everyone's grandmother is "troublesome". Now, big mouth Oxycontin addict Rush Limbaugh has taken offense and fired off an email to Politico about the President and his agenda as it compares to what Limbaugh preaches.
Through all the health care debacle Republicans really had no solutions whatsoever. Why should they?? As the party of the greediest and least patriotic of course they themselves had health coverage, or were even drawing that dreaded evil and demonic "government controlled" health care known as Medicare or Medicaid. Who cares if you cancer victims or Type 1 Diabetics or any other sick person went bankrupt or not?? Why it made much more sense for them to be forced to go to the Emergency Room and bankrupt our country than to cost a few insurance company profits did it not??
Remember when Rush Limbaugh said that he would leave the country if the healthcare bill passed?? Now, we all now Rush Limbaugh is a shameless liar and propogandist and now he seems to be backing out of his promise to leave the country. Of course, Limbaugh would fit in a lot better joining Mitch McConnell as a citizen of Communist China, but lo and behold here in America we will still have to deal with him firing up the mindless masses. I guess he was upset because the healthcare bill may not allow for doctor shopping to attain his beloved Oxycontin.
Man for so many years in rural America we have heard that Democrats would take our guns, although no Democrat has taken a gun from a rural American that I know. Now, it appears as if the guns aren't all Obama and the rest of us in the "Socialist-Nazi-Communist" cabal that is trying to turn the Capital into Red Square want to seize from rural Americans. Yes, now the good ole boys had better brace for the next fight. Yes, Glenn Beck watchers now we want your fishing poles!!
Ah Karl Rove. A liar so disgusting even his own friends dubbed him "Turd Blossom". Now, realizing he was the "architect" of one of the most dishonest, disgusting and corrupt Administrations in history he is seeking to rewrite history and diffuse he and his former boss's sorry spot in it. However, his writings on the Bush years are full of even more lies, and an assault on all of those who exposed the Bush agenda for what it really was.
While I have been disappointed by the direction of this Administration one thing remains true. When they took office our country was disasterously close to a Great Depression. A Depression wrought by the irresponsible policies of greed enacted during the Bush years of being rubber-stamped by an uncaring Republican Congress. While I personally feel the stimulus did go far enough, the Looney Tunes on the right are now deeming the whole bill a failure. Yes, talking heads like Glenn Beck may bark like a dog, but the facts show they are just licking their own butts.
Many of us here were opposed to the Iraq War from the start. I simply did not ever understand why being attacked by a group and leader of that group supposedly centered in Afghanistan meant that we needed to go into Iraq. Despite many long years and thousands upon thousands of lives lost, not to mention the hundreds upon hundreds of billion dollars wasted we are still mired in that country. Now, the Vice-President is admitting how much of a huge mistake it was to go into that country. However he, and the administration should take it one step further.
