HomeUncategorizedTorture Debate Quite Troubling

One of the main issues I opposed the Bush Administration on was the use of torture. It is widely known that during the Bush years this practice was commonplace. While I have heard the arguments for the use of torture I am not buying it. And the one glaring fact that troubles me most still remains…

Enlightened socities don’t torture people. In America we were the first country founded upon Enlightenment and all of our founding principles and creators would detest the thought. The most troubling part is that a large segment of the population, usually the ones who are lecturing others on their patriotism seem don’t seem detest it at all.

Millions of Americans will actually argue the practice of torture by our government against our principles even though it has been proven that it doesn’t work. What reasoning makes this so??
