Kentucky Veterans for Medical Marijuana

by: Acebass

Fri Aug 20, 2010 at 01:36:27 AM EDT

( - promoted by Hillbilly)

Since the Veterans Administration gave the okay for prescriptions of Medical Marijuana, in states where it is legal to do so; I have been working on a project to develope support for legislation here in Kentucky to allow Medical Marijuana.

It makes no sense that as a veteran I can go to Michigan and get a prescription for medical marijuana but I would have to break two states laws in order to get the prescribed medicine

Please help me pass the word about my initiative. I'm at Kentucky Veterans for Medical Marijuana.

After the break you'll find a letter I recieved from congressman Ron Paul. This is really sad and it shows just how desperate he is getting. Something tells me Rand has taken a poll and it's not good...we can only hope...

Connection Made Between Rand Paul and Bong Hits for Jesus

Written by Charpa93
Just hours after the story broke in GQ magazine about the woman claiming to have been kidnapped and made to smoke pot from a bong by Rand Paul, another bombshell has hit the newsstands-Rand Paul may be the person behind the pop culture saying "Bong Hits for Jesus." Rand Paul, from Kentucky, is running for a US Senate seat on the GOP ticket.

Louisville Kentucky has been chosen for the first Coffee Party National convention!

I was at a meeting yesterday with Ms Annabel Parks, a most charming young lady. She is the founder of the Coffee party... Here is her original video;

Dick Durbin started this survey a few years ago and it will put money in our candidate's campaign if he wins. He's in third place now lets see if we can put him over the top.

Please copy this web address and pass it around.

The Teaparty; a reflection

by: Acebass

Thu Aug 05, 2010 at 22:01:20 PM EDT

(Great thoughts!! - promoted by RDemocrat)

I saw trouble when this political movement first started. This is actually a root start from the Ron Paul campaign and Libertarian politics. I'm not going to get into why Libertarian small weak government theory is nuts except to ask our Kentucky coal miners. You men and women who go into the mines, who drive the shovels and loaders, underground and strip miners. If the government were to step back and let mine owners take care of their own safety, do you think the mine owners would do the right thing and make their mines as safe as possible? And if they didn't would you be able to find a job elsewhere?

Is this the man we want representing us?

No one will work at an unsafe mine. Are you Nuts? Well let me restate that. We know your nuts but if you keep your mouth shut no one else will.

This slays me and should show every Kentuckian going to the polls this November. Rand Paul is so out of touch with Kentuckians, where did this guy come from? Mars?

People this man is corporate owned and operated. My God people wise up!

Legalize, Regulate and Educate!

by: Acebass

Sat Jul 31, 2010 at 13:41:56 PM EDT

( - promoted by RDemocrat)

I have been outspoken about the issue of legalization since running Gatewood Galbraith's 1991 primary campaign for him, here in Louisville. Until then I knew there was more to the story of the Pot Prohibition but I didn't have the knowledge I do now.

I met a lot of people and did a lot of reading. I had first smoked when I was in Thailand during the war. I have smoked off and on since in my 61 years. What I have learned is that people are motivated by fear more so than truth. It takes half as long to scare someone than to convince them of the truth.

Follow the Money

by: Acebass

Sun Apr 04, 2010 at 01:44:25 AM EDT

Does that sound familiar? Anyone who lived through the Nixon Watergate debacle knows that the phrase "Follow the Money" was used by "Deep Throat" in bringing down the President.

We've all heard the right wing complaint it's been one every time the government tries to start a program to help the ones who need it most "redistribution of wealth" the rallying cry of conservatives. The right wing wealthy have always been afraid of losing something they had to steal to get and this year is no exception. I 1933 they even tried to overthrow the government to prevent it.

Rally Louisville Monday

by: Acebass

Thu Mar 18, 2010 at 12:44:07 PM EDT

(Thanks for the info - promoted by Hillbilly)

Anyone thats interested please get in touch with me. There are some of us that are trying to get a counter rally going to offset them and give a little payback to Rand Paul and his band of idiots, for disrupting everything we try and do.

I support Congressman Yarmuth and I don't want to give these people a free ride anymore. It's time for a little push back. I think R. Paul is over stepping his bounds and it's time for us to do something.

Do we really want Texas style government here in Kentucky?

Secessionists

by: Acebass

Thu Mar 04, 2010 at 03:30:07 AM EST

What is going on in this country? Have they gone completely nuts?

I think I know the answer to that but these are, from all outward appearances, rational everyday people but since we elected our first black President it seems we have been stricken with mass hysteria. How can you otherwise explain all this talk of 10th amendment, and secession.

Debt collector harassment

Ever have that come up on your caller ID. It's PNC bank, or at least the people who collect for PNC bank. My car payment was due December 27, 2009 and they have been calling almost hourly starting 2 days ago. They start at 9:30am and they won't stop till 9:00 pm. You may be wondering how I know it's them, it's because I've talked to them when they've called. That doesn't matter to them though because no matter what deal I make they will call back once or twice before the date that I set with them so I don't answer anymore.

I have fought back financially despite being unemployed. I have my bills caught up for the first time, I'm only 4 days behind and I'm sorry but I deserve a bit more respect than that. It's New Years Eve for crying out loud. Of course I found out the hard way when it comes to PNC bank, how customer friendly they are. When I had first got the car I was laid off for about 3 months. During that time I feel behind 30 days. I had previously opened a checking account with PNC bank because they had a branch across the street from my work, I though that would be convenient for paying my car payments, I didn't realize just how convenient it would be. One evening, at work, I got a call from PNC bank, a young lady informed me that since my check had just been deposited they were going to take my car payment out of my checking account and it didn't matter that I'd just mailed my rent check a few days earlier and that my landlord deposited the check that very day.

Congress "Getting Completely Crushed" With Over 100,000 Calls For Obama's Healthcare Reform

There's just a hand full of us but there's a little hand full of us here and there all across America. We've only called people who have shown up on our list, through the OFA web site or the campaign and this is what true grass roots power can do! Screw a bunch of Teabaggers... :D

Best reason yet for Single Payer

Wed Sep 23, 2009 at 20:48:37 PM EDT

(HR 676 is the way to go!! - promoted by RDemocrat)

This has been going on since before July of this year. This is a tug of war and it's all about money, and your health. Think about that. Nortons isn't saying you can't come there but they won't honor Anthem insurance.

If you've ever read an Explaination Of Benefits form it's the total amount charged including the mystery money that the hospital agrees to write off if you have the right kind of insurance. If you have Anthem insurance your charged the full amount if your in a Norton hospital.

My personal healthcare horror story

by: Acebass

Fri Sep 18, 2009 at 23:12:23 PM EDT

(Thanks for this diary!! - promoted by RDemocrat)

This is something I read at the rally just before Congressman Yarmuths town hall. I've since added to it and I wanted to share it with all of you here.

My story starts on June 20th. My wife hadn’t felt very well for about a month but that weekend she developed a pain in her back that moved to her front lower abdomen. We thought at first of appendicitis and so I took her to the emergency room. They did some tests and after four hours of laying on a hard exam table my wife was told they needed to admit her for some more tests. After another four hours of laying there she was put in a room. She lay on that exam table a total of 8 hours.

My take on Teabaggers

by: Acebass

Sun Sep 13, 2009 at 09:06:40 AM EDT

(Thanks for your take!! - promoted by RDemocrat)

First and foremost they are loud and boorish. They make no sense, they are like the angry mobs who would break into the jail with a rope and race the captive to the nearest tree and lynch them so as to appease the crowd. The tea-party movement is dangerous because it plays on your emotions and not your common sense. They agree that your hurting and then they give you the villain, big government, that must be the root cause of it all.
